My wife hates college football but she actually likes listening to him. She said he talks and explains things in a way that she can understand it and thinks a lot of his points make sense. He’s the only analyst I’ve ever heard her actually stop and listen to when it comes to college football.

Every time we pass an Academy she says “Josh Pate would be happy if we go there”.

He’s a pretty reasonable guy. He’s not entirely reactionary and doesn’t run with generic takes which is refreshing. I listen to him. I also appreciate that he does try to cover the entire country. He knows the SEC is the best and most passionate brand of football but he’s conscientious of trying to be unbiased and I give him credit for that.

He knows his stuff but comes off as a bit arrogant.

It's a good thing for a sports coverage guy to be a bit arrogant so he can stand behind his takes
