No. State is one of those programs that seems like it is scared of success. Last Saturday at JHS was a prime example.
Wouldn't shock me at all if MSU comes out firing and punches LSU in the mouth for an early lead. But, I would fully expect State to wake up and realize, "Oh, shite! We're Mississippi fricking State!" and the choke would promptly commence.

I think LSU will win, but yes, certainly Mississippi State can win. And if they do by no means will it be like when Tulane beat us in 1982. State has a fine football team and Mullen is a good coach.
So much of college football is emotion and State has had this game circled since Spring training ended.A quick strike or an LSU turnover or two in the first and it could be a bad night.
But I think this team "has a want"
and will pull it out.

Good grief, people. State just had a punishing game against Auburn. Half of LSU's starters barely broke a sweat last week. LSU's coaches have had the luxury of already prepping for an offense like State's.
PLUS, State will be emotionally spent after how it lost last week.
For those of you pointing to Vegas, I have a feeling the oddsmakers know LSU will win big but are keeping the line close because public sentiment seems to be on State's side.
LSU wins big = Vegas wins bigger.

Vegas thinks state will win. Everyone is gonna jump on LSU at -3.5 because LSU is amazing and State just lost. Then Vegas makes a shitload of money when State squeaks one out.

I think State has a chance to win. It will take some mistakes on LSU's part and State playing a nearly flawless game. I have seen Thursday night bring out the best for the underdogs and the favorite team come out a bit flat. If all of this takes place, MSU has a good chance. With that being said-LSU's defense is probably too much!!

My feeling is that LSU will show its depth and talent. LSU should not be looking past MSU, as this is the Tigers' first SEC game of 2011. I expect it to be close in the first half, with LSU going away in the 4th quarter. Of course, all of this is a hunch. We will know, soon enough!

I've had money on MSU since that line came out. They will cover and possibly win.

arguably inferior option-running MSU teams with a quality running QB completely owning LSU from 1980-83.

There is nothing to base that feeling on. Could it happen? Yes. Will it? I doubt it. If it does happen then there will be something there to base that feeling on in the future. Until it does I remain unconvinced.

Im bookmarking this thread FWIW. THe hog fans on this site, and their little brother syndrome of LSU is what keeps me clicking on SECrant. You think because youve had our number for the last couple of years, that you deserve the praise, rankings and accolades that LSU get. Well, LSU finishes strong and dominates OOC opponents, and that is something Arky has yet to accomplish. So keep that jealousy growing, because it makes me smile on the inside.

Whatever floats your boat. I like $$$$$$$$$$$
Every swinging dick thinks LSU is gonna cover this game. They are wrong.
