Does anybody remember Kentucky's 86 points in the first half against LSU in '96?

LINK

The first minute of this video is ridiculous. They ended up scoring 129 points this game. Antoine Walker lit them up. Too bad he ended up being a major dumb arse.

I don't understand how LSU's defense back then was so bad. I just really don't. 143 points should not be possible.

Watching LSU try to break the press was hilarious. Like they've never seen one.

wow. just wow. I don't think i've ever seen a basketball team lose the ball 3 possessions in a row to open a game. That was ugly.

We were terrible that year. Everyone knew it was gonna be a beatdown before the ball was ever tipped.

Pitino rammed it in dry.

I was in 4th grade when they won the National Championship in 96'. I remember that we had to draw a team out of a hat and I got Indiana. This girl got Kentucky and I just remember saying to myself I got a terrible team.

LSU wasn't the only SEC team to take a beating that year...

Ole Miss @ UK 90-60

South Carolina @ UK 89-57

UK @ Vandy 120-81

UK @ Tennessee 90-50

UK @ Florida 94-63

Vandy @ UK 101-63

There were tons more that were 20+, but I just pulled 30+ or more. Georgia was the only team to play the 96 Cats within single digits in the SEC until MSU beat them at the SEC Tournament.

That was absolutely hilarious. I didn't watch the whole thing but I can't imagine my mostly white 3A HS BB team putting up a more comical effort against an NCAA team than I saw in the first couple of minutes of that.

what Kentucky did over a four half (well, actually about 77 mins instead of 80) period from the second half of the 1994 fiasco through that first half was nothing short of amazing. The second half of the '94 game was the infamous collapse when LSU blew a 31 pt lead. After LSU took a 68-37 lead, Kentucky outscored LSU 62-27 to win 99-95. The '95 game in Lexington was just a blow out from the opening tip and UK won 127-80. Over four halves UK outscored LSU 275-149, a two game avg score of 137-75.

As bad as LSU was during that stretch and as good as UK was, that is still just staggering.
