Does any SEC coach get more from less than Drinkwitz?

He’s a little putz but I have to hand it to the guy.
Kinda scary to think of him getting ahold of a school that has ample recruits in its state.

They started improving immediately when he quit coaching. His assistants have done a good job of managing the weak schedule. And no, kansas isn’t good, they just have a good qb…

Not just this year, every year.

Then show me. I’ve just given you two examples.
Missouri is easily bottom third of the SEC footprint and probably bottom 25% most years.
Not a football rich state.

Mizzou's talent composite is 22nd nationally. Team is ranked 25th. Seems spot on?

Here’s another. A whole TWO 4-star recruits. WOW!!!
Mizzou has 34 4*+ players on the roster. What does this year's crop of MO kids have anything to do with Mizzou's roster? This is the NIL era, and Mizzou has bags.

Would the Bama fans want Drink if they have an opening soon?

This is only partially true. They got better when three things happened:
1) The talent upgrade via improved recruiting started kicking in (Odom left the cupboard pretty bare, especially at QB).
2) As you suggest, yes, things got better when he handed over the play-calling duties to the OC, although he was and still is heavily involved in offensive game planning.
3) Following up from #2, Mizzou got better because that freed him up to take much more of a hands-on approach to the team as a whole. Say what you will about him as a guy in front of the media, but he's a great behind-the-scenes culture-builder. Mizzou has an excellent culture and it's very much due to his influence.

I think they're solid. Probably an 8-4 type team this year. Their DL is pretty darn good (in the top 20 for TFL so far this year.) Very disruptive.

I stated that the state is not talent rich. The poster claimed I “don’t know ball.” I proved him wrong. That’s the argument.

I think if you break down the roster you'll find he's got more talent than most folks realize. I do think he's struck a nice balance between HS and Portal acquisitions.

No argument from me.

He had a losing record his first 3 years when he was calling plays.
Had a great record the last 2 years but with pretty soft schedules for an SEC team.

Agreed, I think you can let the jury rest on that one. I do think the portal has far less geographic boundaries than HS recruiting ever has. Kids are older and money talks. I do think Drink has been quick to adapt to the changing landscape and it has presented an opportunity for Mizzou. That said, total revenue and donation rankings still has Mizzou around 12-13th in SEC.
Even for a school as tradition rich as Bama it presents a problem.

Drinkintz reminds me of a high school volleyball coach. But, he's getting 100% out of the talent at Mizzou. Results are what matters in this game.

No doubt. It's not upper echelon SEC good, but even lower-mid SEC level talent and depth is pretty darn good these days.
But to the OP's point, I agree that he does have Mizzou punching a bit higher than their weight. His record in one-score games is really good (17-8 at MU, 20-9 overall), and it's not a fluke. His teams are tough and know how to win in the 4th quarter.

But he’s recruiting the whole country just fine. I think he would rather have a perennial top 25 team with zero pressure and lots of money than anything else.
