What's great about Sayin? He couldn't beat out Howard at Ohio State. He's short, barely 6 feet tall and overhyped.
That’s the point. Nobody knows anything about Sayin because there’s no game experience for him. I venture to say that he will be the guy next year for OSU, but nobody has any clue at this point.

He could be but I never bought into the hype with that kid. I know height isn't everything but he's on the short side for a QB. We'll see. At least Ty Simpson and Austin Mack have game experience. I'm not sure about Sayin.

Remind me of who your QBs have beat out. Please remember yall hated Milroe. Sayin couldnt beat out a senior NC winner.

And yet they'll prob still thump LSU

Nobody "hated" Milroe. He just sucked arse as a QB and was responsible for multiple losses on the schedule.
I already explained the dynamics surrounding the QB issue at Bama. DeBoer was hamstrung and could not run even half the offense he wanted to run due to Milroe.
A "Senior NC winner" was a portal pickup from Kansas. Sayin could not beat out a QB from Kansas.
I would wager all of the QBs on Bama's current roster are better than any Allbarn has on their current roster and that includes the QB from OU. Allbarn went to the portal and got themselves a Peyton Thorne clone, LOLOLOLOLOL!!!

Not a glowing endorsement for the scrubs behind him.

Championship caliber team wanted experience. Imagine that.

Cool story bro.

Come on, man. You didn't say he was overhyped when he was signing with Alabama.
Seems ridiculous to criticize a true freshman for not being able to beat out a three-year college starting QB who ended up winning the national championship.

It was a first year coach in a delicate situation. I don't believe I have to spell it out for you.
I don't believe the other QBs are scrubs and I don't expect an AU fan to agree with me or have any sense of objectivity. We'll just have to wait and see how it turns out, but the other kids were top notch recruits out of HS. I don't know what else could have been done differently.

Or.. the HC played the QB that he believed would give him the best chance to win.

Are you’re going with the conspiracy that every recruiting service overrated Russell? His offer list was just a mirage?
The real difference is that Bama does not feel like it is just "reloading" again. There was never any room for question before. This feels different; Maybe not a rebuild, but possibly a step back.

Alabama returns more production than anybody in the SEC - most of the DL, multiple LBs, most of the secondary, all of the WRs, starting RB, 3/5 of the OL. If the QB situation is solid they'll be very good. If none of the guys can do it effectively they'll be up and down again.

I would love to know what type of head coach hamstrings himself.

The question:
jangalang's deflections:
You were asked an honest, good faith question...politely...and rather than attempting to share your football insight you spent the rest of the thread frantically deflecting and lashing out. Very odd behavior.

I said I was glad yall didnt have Julian Sayin and butthurt bammer started lashing out is more like it.
but but but!!! He couldnt beat out the senior that just led his team to the national championship victory!
Our coach was hamstrung!

Milroe was a Heisman favorite after the first few games in 2024 so you got that going for you
Posted on 1/23/25 at 4:01 pm to jangalang
Sayin is mid. He played high school ball on the beach in San Diego County. Threw for 2700 yards as a Jr in a league that isn't known for football power.
Will Jeremiah Smith make him look better than he really is? Probably.
He WoN tHe eLiTe 11!!
So did Rhett Bomar and Asiantii Woulard.

Fair enough. That is why I used the term "feel". I'm not sure the fear is there from other teams, especially after Vandy.

Maybe but if you are wrong I am glad he is in a different uniform.
We will find out who he is August 30th against Tejas.

If Milroe was the best last year, then we have serious problems at QB this year
