Did Mizzou and LSU prepare for the wrong QB (or, at least, not the one that beat them) and that’s why they got run over?

Weigman has been more bad than good. That being said, if you prepare for Reed (option) and get Weigman (inconsistent, but overall better arm), or vice versa, does A&M have a distinct advantage?

Could be rose-colored glasses, but it just seems like two diametrically different game plans that could cause problems if you only prepare for one.

Or,…

Stick with Reed and run the ball down other team’s throats. We can’t pass block anyways.

We should put Bussey back there and run the wildcat. That would be funny.

But only if it worked.

The "LSU didn't prepare for Reed" excuse is pretty lame. Reed is not the first mobile QB LSU has ever faced. If BK and crew did not have the team prepped for the possibility of an injury-prone Weigman leaving the game, and knowing what the offensive adjustments would look like with Reed, they should be fired for gross incompetence.

Weigman at QB with Reed at RB in the pistol. Pitch to Reed and let him RPO.

BK said as much after the game.

He said they have a plan for a running QB and used it vs. Arkansas but they didn't execute it when A&M switched QBs.

Our players stated in post game interviews that they did not prepare for Reed, and it was pretty fricking obvious when he went into the game.

How has a reporter not asked Kelly point blank if they spent time prepping for the read option QB who's played~ 50% of the A&M snaps this year.

Then BK and his entire staff should be fired immediately.

We're on a bye this week so he won't give a weekly presser until next Monday. But the BR media is soft as baby shite so no one well press him on it.

Then again, what if you prepared for both equally. It's one thing to have a good plan, but another to stop a QB that is executing at a high level on a good football team.

Weigman looks just like the QB you had that left for GT.

That is my point. I find it hard to believe that BK did not have them prep at all for the possibility of Reed, given Weigman's injury history and Reed having started already this year. Reed simply balled out and was better than LSU.

Oh yeah... Morton and Staubach, circa 1970.. I remember it well, my daddy had just got me started watching football.

I was always pulling for Craig Morton because I liked the number #14.

Funny, I live in the hometown of the feller that preceded those two - Dandy Don.
