I would really like to see a couple of south eastern teams added. Virginia and a NC school make the most sense. West Virginia is the most likely next non big 12 team to get an invite, not a fan of that at all. 20 teams with excellent football, basketball, and baseball TV rights would dominate the money aspect of collegiate sports. U of VA has basketball and baseball at a high level and the recruiting to bump football into respectable levels with SEC money.
Maryland would be another option to look at. They do not fit the big 10 and left the ACC.

If they chose to join, would y'all welcome Notre Dame?
I would simply because they'd lose a minimum of 4-5 games automatically every year.

No, they are not a good cultural fit. Same reason I don’t see Kelly working out long term at LSU. A good program, tons of history, great fans, just not a good fit. They are a big 10 team when all is said and done.

I would caution using that term knowing you have their 0-77 pasting in your recent history.
That is arguably the worst beat down in college football since color TV.

Just curious of the rants opinions
Probably not and they should go ahead and name it something else rather than SEC.
Name doesn't really reflect conference anymore after the last 4 additions.

In a true conference everybody plays everybody else. SEC hasn’t been a true conference throughout its history.
So the only true conference in Power5 is the Big XII, until they expand to 12 teams then no true Power5 conferences.
No true conferences in the NFL.
Interesting opinion.

This is just my opinion, not what I want:
SEC wants to be the equivalent of the Premier League in Soccer. Everyone else is beneath us. They would love to add Ohio St, Michigan, Penn St, USCw, and Oregon for football, plus North Carolina, Kansas, Indiana and Duke for basketball. I can also see them relegating a few of the current members out of the Conference. It's all about the almighty dollar.

Those who fantasize about returning to a by-gone era, i.e. reconstituting the Southwest conference, it ain't happening anymore than I'm gonna be 20 years old with a full head of hair again. Grow up! Texas, A&M, and Oklahoma are major pluses to the power and prestige of the conference. If the SEC were to start kicking out all non-founding members, it will soon cease to be a power conference.

You can't be this stupid right? The SEC would not have NEAR the interest in it without those four teams. The states of South Carolina, Arkansas, Texas, and Missouri would have no reason to even care about the SEC at that point.

It gives more relevance to Missouri Arkansas and TAMU by having two of their traditional rivals added.
Teams like Florida and South Carolina do no benefit much by having two powers way out west added. The only team east of the Mississippi River that benefits is LSU.

TAMU brought fans and TV sets, the rest? SC, Mizzou, Arky? They added nothing special. NCST instead of Mizzou, West Va instead of Arky, and Eastern Carolina instead of Uof SC and the SEC is better off.
