Oh and you can say what you want about that huge loss to Utah last year in the Sugar bowl, but is it really a letdown to get beat by an undefeated team in a bowl game?

You were expecting to lose?

You can't even admit to being bummed out at your losses? "Bama loses better than any other team in the SEC!"

There was a time from about 2002 to 2005 that UF wasn't near the top.

They lost to MSU after the Bullies had gotten beat by Maine. They got lost to Alabama by 28 points, by a Mike Shula coached team.

I think it's gonna continue to be cyclical.

With that being said, Alabama is the premier program because of what it has done in the past and is doing right now.

It will be cyclical but Bama is not the premier program anymore sorry face facts UF is it and it is not close to the next level.

Going by the last 30 years in the SEC the top program is UF. The next program is UGA, then UT, then AU, then Bama, then LSU.

Whenever UF has a decent coach there they will rule the East and statisticaly have a better than average win ratio against the Western rep team.

and here I was thinking Florida has 2 national championships in the 3 years... who would have known that doesn't make you the premier program... anywhere...

I think Alabama has to win the SEC championship once in this decade to even start considering themselves the premier program in the conference. Until you win on Dec 5th, you're just talking out of your arse. You might come away with nothing just like last year. You're a great team this year, certainly more cohesive than LSU, but Florida still trumps you, even if you do win, and LSU is second. You're on the rise, but get some hardware first, then preen.

Do you think Nick Saban is a better coach now than he was at LSU? - Yes, withhout a doubt.

Did the NFL teach him to be a little more humble and not brow beat and berate his players to the point where they wore down emotionally during a season? Yep. He wore down and abused his players to get the best out of them in the short run. That is why he never had back to back winning seasons and the Dolphins got worse his 2nd year.

I mean all year Bama fans have heard from LSU fans how Saban has never had to back to back 10 win seasons? Well so much for that argument. Yep

How he was due to get beat by an inferior team at least once every season? THis hasn't happened. I was just wondering if it's because he might be a better coach now? You are correct. Though next year will be tough for Bama. Schedule is harder, and say what you want, they will lose some hunger next year and will likely lose a lot of key players.

Oh and you can say what you want about that huge loss to Utah last year in the Sugar bowl, but is it really a letdown to get beat by an undefeated team in a bowl game? Game was a letdown game that really didn't mean shite.

Look, I fricking hate Bama more than a fat kid loves cake. However, they have earned the right to do some talking. They are 1 of 2 top programs in the SEC right now. And no LSU is not the other. The hardware shite gets old. When you kick the shite out of everybody on your schedule two years in a row, you have earned something and can demand respect. LSU's championships were great, but right now, Bama is the team sitting atop the SEC along with UF. Sure, UF is Bama's daddy until proven otherwise. But Bama has the talent, the coaching, and the record to claim to be 1 of the top 2 programs in the SEC right now period.

And LSU is heading in the opposite direction. Why do they need hardware to prove their the top 2 in the conference when they went undefeated in the regular season the last 2 years? Everybody thought that bama would lose some games this year, but they haven't...yet. And guess what, with their recruiting classes the last couple of years where their coaches actually coach up talent they'll be back next year.

You all looked pretty premier the 10 years before Saban. I think a premier coach at a sub par school in a sub par town.

Honestly,

I think the difference is that since he's been at Bama, he's concentrated solely on getting Bama back where it needs to be. He hasn't had one eye constantly on the NFL like when he was in BR. When he was here, fans always knew that it was a matter of "when" not "if" he would chase his dream of being an NFL coach. Bama is very fortunate because Saban no longer has that desire. He's been to the NFL and understands that he isn't cut out to be a HC at that level. He failed terribly. That being said, He's definitely one of the best at the college level...and certainly Miles ahead of Lester. Enjoy the success, Bama. I don't see LSU challenging you anytime soon, at least while Lester is our coach...

Apparently, you forgot how to read. I did not forget Utah. In fact, I mentioned them specifically.

I just don't consider losing that game to be on par with losing a game to UAB.

Alabama has way more football tradition than these other schools. Bury your heads in the sand if you want to but it's true.

Only an insecure Gump worries about Saban. Who gives a frick about him. He's just another coach who hasn't won the SEC with his current team - think Spurrier and Nutt. He's gone, and we're glad you have him....wait till he gets all high and mighty over the Gump Faithful. Wait till that 8-5 season comes out and see how he is...he may leave you for Michigan after losing a bowl game.

You do realize recruits now were BORN in the 1990 range right? Bama's "tradition" was gone by that time, UF ruled supreme in the SEC. I'm going to be harsh here but get over it, the only time Bama approached the top level like UF under spurrier was when they were paying recruits top dollar. If tradition is that great why pay recruits? I know the whole glass house thing and I realize I'll have some thrown back at me for being an AU fan but if you think Bama is the top program in the SEC you are clueless. Is it a great program? yes is it the supreme program in the SEC? not even close.

You can't compare Saban at lsu to Saban at the Flagship of the SEC. There is nothing he wants that he can't get at that program football or otherwise. Bama has won more championships, bowl games and games period than any other team in the SEC. It's like Bear Bryant said "if you want to get into Heaven and see the streets of gold you need to know the password and it's Roll Tide Roll."
