Word from UNC insiders is that he is a very lazy coach and a nonexistent recruiter. Take this for what it's worth. He was brought back to UNC by Fedora so we could land his 5* WR son. The kid eventually signed a baseball contract and never play CFB.

Deke had shite all to do with Clowney's production I'm afraid. Maybe he'll end up being a better fit for you guys but he's a massive failure as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not excited about this hire, but SC fans are sounding like the Vol fans who swore that Shoop was a bust.

I watched him coach from about 20 feet away and by coaching I mean he stood on the tackling dummy talking smack while the dl ran around tires.
I don't have any hatred for state fans so I feel pity for them.

Tennessee fans told us all spring and summer Shoop was unable to communicate with the prototypical SEC football player so maybe he just needs him to interpret for him instead of actually coach.
