I hope the facts end the debate about rather it’s Tennessee song or Bama song.
Fact #1. Ronnie Rogers- Born in Nashville Tn.
From Ronnie Rogers himself:
Fact #2. Songwriter Ronnie Rogers, who previously had hits with Ed Bruce, Dave Dudley, Tanya Tucker and others, recalled to country music journalist Tom Roland that the idea for "Dixieland Delight" came to him while driving on U.S. Route 11W, a rural highway through Grainger County, Tennessee.
Fact #3 Rogers is a Vols fan- The resident of Franklin, Tennessee said he’s gone to a few Vol games in Knoxville and supports his home-state program.
Fact #4 “I came to a stop sign at a dead-end road,” Rogers said, “and the thought just came “rolling down the backwoods, Tennessee by-way,” which is what I was doing. ‘One arm on the wheel …” and I finished about half of it that day. And the chorus.
“I went home and a guy came to my house asking what songs I’ve written in a week and I played him the half of the song and he said ‘Man, you have to finish that.’
“So, well, I went out in the woods and I didn’t know where I was going. So I look around and there was a white-tail buck deer, a red-tail hawk sitting on a limb and a chubby old groundhog was all around me.
“So I said ‘God, thank you.’ I wrote it all down and they liked it.”

So it is 100% fact that when Rogers come up with this song, he wasn’t thinking about anything in Alabama.

When I think about this song I am thinking about Tennessee. As in "frick Tennessee."

Just a reminder that every time you play this song, you are promoting a Tennessee Fan, so you do you. It’s even more comical that most of your dumb arse fan base actually thinks it’s about Alabama.

This post wasn’t about football. It’s clearing the air about the song. And now you know the facts, doesn’t it confuse you to why you would sing a song about Tennessee inside your stadium every weekend?

I don't think anyone who is an Alabama fan has ever claimed otherwise. It's a song by the band Alabama entitled "Dixieland Delight." Alabama happens to be in Dixie and thus part of "Dixieland." Hence why we use it.

Why the frick is this on your mind at 12:44 am on a Monday morning? It’s sung by Alabama, nobody gives a frick who writes songs.

I just think about highschool and hoping a get finger frick the chick on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere.
But that is just me, I have no idea what figs think about when listening to this great American song...Evidently it appears to be geography.

Tennessee can start claiming songs when they’re relevant again.

Since Alabama owns Tennessee, it only makes sense they got all their songs too.

Imagine spending this much time into trying to inject your team into another teams tradition 2 weeks after losing to them.

Alabama’s stadium PA crew picked the song specifically to make Tennessee fans really mad about it.
I was skeptical. It was a slow burn but it seems that their efforts have paid off.

These lyrics by Ronnie Rogers resonant.
“A little turtle dovin on a Mason Dixon night (frik Auburn)
Fits my life (and LSU), oh so right (and Tennessee too)”

In North Alabama, we just envision it as sneaking across the northern border to bang some ho in Tennessee.

I know a lot of UT fans IRL and Bama claiming this song really, really bothers them deeply.
Part of it is they are mad they didn’t use it first and part of it is that their rivals claims a song they liked and is now using it to antagonize them. And because the band is called “Alabama” and largely originate from NE Alabama there is enough there for the claim to have some validity.
Either way, it was a truly devious and inspired move by the Alabama gameday operations team to do this.
