We are a happy bunch and we like to have fun without discriminating.

Fair enough then. I wasn't flaming but, just can't figure out why these songs are/were played in the stadium as if the Bear wrote the lyrics, Gene played bass, and Saban laid the vocals.

What is the deal with the fighting sabans "adopting" songs? As has been mentioned, "Dixieland Delight" is not even about Alabama. "Sweet Home Alabama" is sung by a Florida band and doesn't even mention the university at all.
Can somebody help me with this?
Few Alabama fans know the words to their fight song. There is nothing wrong with them using a couple of songs. Auburn has done that in the past
Yea, Alabama! Drown 'em Tide!
Every 'Bama man's behind you,
Hit your stride.
Go teach the Bulldogs to behave,
Send the Yellow Jackets to a watery grave.
And if a man starts to weaken,
That's a shame!
For Bama's pluck and grit have
Writ her name in Crimson flame.
Fight on, fight on, fight on men!
Remember the Rose Bowl, we'll win then.
Go, roll to victory,
Hit your stride,
You're Dixie's football pride,
Crimson Tide, Roll Tide, Roll Tide!!

Written by songwriters out of Gatlinburg about a mountain in Tennessee. The song "Walking in Memphis" was written by a guy from Cleveland, Ohio. That doesn't make the song any less about Memphis.

I doubt any administration will allow it not because of F Auburn, but because it mentions the word DIXIE. Our PC world drives me crazy.
Nah, it is 100% because of "Fvck Auburn, Fvck LSU, and Tennessee too"

Greatest fvckin fight song lyrics ever.
Nothing better than losing your shite on a Bammer who sings "Yea Alabama, Crimson Tide"

Do you really NEED help with this? I mean, gee, I wonder why these songs might be popular at an Alabama college?

So that is why AU plays it too?..and Troy, USA, UAB, UNA, UWA, Tuskegee...

Dixie land Delight probably picked up by drunk Greeks, alt words and instant hit in BDS.
Should only be sung when AU or VOLS are home games.

Any chance they'll resume playing this song at Bama home games
Hope not. It's really not something that adds to the gameday experience for me (not a popular opinion, but neither does Rammer Jammer). I love winning as much as the next guy, I just don't like having to explain some of that stuff to my kids.
