Because it’s a penalty to simulate a snap. Lol.

Shifting a D line at the last minute is a legit tactic to confuse the blocking assignments. It’s not just “to simulate the snap”

But you said it’s because we shift. Obviously the other times we shifted weren’t considered simulating a snap or they would’ve called it. I don’t think you know, any more than I do, why it was called on that one play and not others…in other words it’s not simple.

This. Basically opposing coaches are just bitching because their teams aren’t disciplined enough to deal with it.

I remember the good ole days when the OL was actually required to stay still unless touched even if the defense jumped offsides. None of this standing and pointing as if they’re assistant officials.

We got called because of the "move" signal that our DL uses for the shift at home. It's stupid.

That one is kind of retarded. The offense is going on silent count and clapping.

The defense yells "move" and that is simulating a silent snap count?

Who is the moron that come up with that one?

Maybe the officials need to address both teams pregame and advise what words are permitted and what words are not. Because the defense has to be permitted to communicate with one another.

The offense shouldn't be allowed to do hard counts and motion to get the defense to jump offsides.

I don't know, but I find the clap to be rather disconcerting.

Yes, shifting the whole dline in unison right before the other team is set to snap the ball is simulating the snap. It’s not that hard.

They should call it more. A few times I saw they were moving just 1 or 2 guys which would not be the same thing.

But you're cool with a TE shifting? You talk like a pussy whose team isn't disciplined.

Lol. One player isn’t the whole LOS moving in unison.

It’s pretty simple. UGA shifts their whole line at the last second to simulate a snap and try to get a false start.

No, UGA does it to mess up the blocking assignments.

Both probably. But this isn’t little league so that doesn’t fool many. It’s more effective in getting the offensive line to jump.

What are you talking about?

It's totally legal to shift the entire defensive line at once. The rule is about the noises the defense makes pre-snap.

I think I’m the past they would call the defense for delay of game by simulating the snap or something like that.

But it was rare and was never called disconcerting signals
