I switched to YouTube TV several months back and am really happy with it. So much better than shitty arse DTV or cable.

Why do you want to kick someone in the drawers or big box? Or did you mean cojones?

Heres what pisses me off about the whole thing. AT&T blames ESPN. ESPN blames AT&T. Of course neither side will tell you who is asking for what and who is offering what so you have no clue who is really to blame

I absolutely loathe AT&T, but it's actually easy to know who to blame in this situation and it isn't AT&T. Cable/Dish providers don't want to have to increase costs on their subscribers. They know it makes them angry and causes them to accelerate the possibility they might cut the cord.

Disney/ESPN knows this, but they also know if they pull their channels that AT&T will take 90% of the blame because consumers don't understand that Disney/ESPN is the one asking for more money.

AT&T is left with two options:

1. Piss off customers right now by losing the ability to carry Disney/ESPN channels.

2. Piss off customers in the future when they have to raise rates to cover increased content costs.

Disney/ESPN laugh all the way to the bank because they know AT&T, or any subscription TV provider for that matter, will eventually cave because of customer anger and cancellations.

Customers are lemmings and who do they blame when they can't receive a certain channel or content? They blame the person they are openly paying money to every month. They don't realize that X amount of dollars of their monthly bill goes straight to Disney/ESPN once they make their payment.

If you call AT&T and bitch because they lose Disney/ESPN channels then you have zero right to bitch once your bill rises. AT&T will absorb the cost for a little while, but eventually they have to pass it on.

I'd say I'm surprised hardcore sports fans don't already know all of this, but the average consumer is rarely patient enough to pay attention to any article or argument past its headline or first paragraph.

I called to complain and they dropped my bill by $20 a month.

I'm currently paying $54 a month for one of their 2nd highest tier packages.

Save yourself the trouble and ask to speak directly to the retention dept.

And I pay 32 a month for the DirectTV XTRA package AND got a $200 gift card. So what? It doesn't invalidate the point I was making. Go read AT&T's recent financial reporting that discusses their subscription TV units. They're losing customers like crazy and had to resort to giving people like you and me crazy deals to get us to stick around. However, supposedly one of their latest efforts is to stop chasing the overall subscriber number and focus more on revenue per customer. That means they're eventually going to let negotiators like us leave without getting some killer deal meant to retain us.

Everyone should play hardball and negotiate with their TV provider. I'm pro-consumer, so I want consumers to get as much for their dollar as they can. But, Disney/ESPN is the MOST expensive set of channels that providers feel mandated to carry. Their channels actually make up a substantial part of your monthly bill.

ESPN charges a ridiculous amount per month per subscriber.

The good thing with cord cutting is you can always switch services if your provider drops a channel

Disney really putting the screws to the cable providers that are already reeling from declining subscribers.

Cable and satellite operaters know if they lose sports channels that is it. Everyone would cut the cord

I literally don’t care about the money. Don’t take my fricking football from me on saturdays.

Whoever runs at&t needs to dragged out naked and do the walk of shame game of thrones style across the country
