I think LSU should just claim the Heisman, print the shirts and put a banner up.

Hell Ingram shouldn't have even been the first choice among RB's. Toby Gerhart had a much better year and was 10x more important to Stanford's success that year than Ingram was to Bama's

His stats were better than either Jim Plunkett or Archie Manning

Jim Plunkett led the nation in total offense by more than 300 yds over Sullivan.

Sure, sure. I'm guessing that's why Alabama reamed him during the Iron Bowl that year.

What a pointless thread.

Sure, sure
Let me know what other fanbase makes a thread 4 pages based on a Heisman winner 40+ years ago.

Like I said on page 1, clockwork.
Predictable.
Every time this thread is made, the same responses are thrown out from 'bama fans.

Well, when I'm in my 70s, I'll pop back over and see if Auburn fans are still talking about Ingram... or LSU fans for that matter.

No need.

You can see no threads about Ingram today.

It was an absolute embarrassment that Ingram won the Heisman. Suh should have won it in a landslide.

That's such BS...there was no standout Heisman candidate in 2009...just about any of the finalists that year would've been worthy of it but none of 'em should've won by a landslide...

Suh was great, but he got more than 1/3 of his sacks for the season in the Big 12 Championship game...if it hadn't been for his 4.5 sacks that game, I'm not sure he would've been invited to New York...just like Ingram, he had a game or two where he just didn't produce that year. I could've seen him winning it, but not in a landslide...

Would Ingram have won in the several years before or after 2009? No, he would not have...in those years you had QBs put up PlayStation like numbers and he wouldn't have come close. Tebow, Cam, RG3, and Johnny Football would've won over him by a large margin. But in 2009, there was no QB (or any other player) who put up numbers like that. Ingram was a worthy winner in 2009, but an argument could've been made for any of the other finalists as well...

as a JCCHS alum I'm proud of Pat Sullivan's Heisman

Johnny Musso probably deserved it more that year but who cares? Johnny got the undefeated Iron Bowl win

Pat Sullivan has never been anything but class

Ed marinaro should have won it, not Sulivan

If any RB should've won it that year, it should've been Pruitt...while Marinaro had over 1800 yards, Pruitt had over 1700 yards and averaged 9 yards a carry (I think 'bout 3+ yards more a carry than Marinaro, if I remember right)...that's like a first down just about every time he ran the ball...

Stats-wise, Sullivan had a better argument the year before...but since the Heisman was more Senior/career based back then, I think Sullivan was deserving of it...

You have to view each year the Heisman was awarded as relative to who was in the running and how their achievements were measured by the voters in that era...

Beasley screwed him out of the 1970 Heisman, in fact he has been screwed over a bunch of times.

Pretty sure he got screwed out of an NFL career too by going to the 70's Falcons organization.

Also got screwed at TCU for being a shitty coach and not doing shite with LaDainian Tomlinson.

He also got screwed at Samford, because that place blows in general, I mean really how can you play football at a school that has a campus curfew?
