It's worth pointing out that Miami dropped 14 spots.
So perhaps there was overreaction in both directions.
Regardless, it doesn't really matter.
Probably shouldn't be any poll at all until October but people need something to talk about.

I’d be shocked, absolutely shocked, if Notre Dame doesn’t hold the AP record for jumping up in the poll rankings, probably from unranked to top 5.
