NIL makes it tough for the usual shady dealings characters to make a splash. The days of Hugh Freeze winning recruits with prostitutes and wads of cash is over.

I mean even if you take that away high end recruits would want to play for the third best team in the SEC one would assume.

Nah, not when the third best team doesn’t stack up in other areas - such as facilities, academic support, & NFL draft picks.

He’s not dumb, and there’s money at Ole Miss. I believe he will…calibrate his recruiting strategy going forward in light of NIL. I wouldn’t melt just yet.

He's been too busy recruiting for LSU, Miami, Oregon, USC, etc...

It will be much better next year. Most relationships are being established now with high school juniors. High school senior relationships and contacts started last year or before.

He thought one of LSU, Florida or Miami would come after him but Florida and Miami got their #1 choices and LSU didn’t fall far enough to come after Lane.
He was counting on the best season in OM history to get him a ride out of town and it didnt

Sam was hired the same week. Sam has been improving and tearing up the portal every year.
Lane will tank at Ole Miss in the coming years.

That and the closest most of your fans have gotten to campus is the Bama clothing section at the local Wal-Mart.
