Did expansion 2.0 diminish your interest in the SEC overall?

I'm sitting at a bar last night watching some SEC sportsball and I realize I am losing my interest in "SEC" shite overall.
(Disclaimer: I'm aware the 2012 coincided with a motorcycle wreck and the subsequent destruction of my football program)
Two things occurred to me:
1. 14 teams is unnaturally large. High school sports conferences aren't this big. NFL Divisions aren't this big. It's unnatural. 14 teams are a lot of teams to consider and think about and wrap your head around constantly. The league shares borders with Nebraska and New Mexico and Iowa, now.
2. Since the inception of the SEC NETWORK, everything about the SEC is so over-sold. It's constantly selling itself as an entity. Formerly organic things like "conference pride" and chanting "SEC" are now distilled into marketing campaigns intended to drive revenue.
Maybe I'm just getting old, but I feel like they pushed it too far. Nothing personal to A&M and Mizzou.

No. Not sure why it would or should.

You make several good points, but the '12 expansion did not diminish my interest in the conference. Personally, I don't think 14 teams is too large.

Your sports teams suck so you're losing interest. It has happened to me a few times. Aggy Chad will bring you back into the fold.

Plenty here will say the SEC should of stayed at 10, so there's that.

I have no interest in Mizzou but Aggy was a good add imo

Oh I know that. I sincerely am not being snarky towards Mizzou or A&M. I don't mind either, as entities and sports teams. Just an overall feeling I have had the past couple of years.

I don’t have a problem with the size I just wish we had different schools. Kick out the Mississippi schools and replace them with North Carolina and Duke. Kick out Missouri and Arkansas and replace them with Oklahoma and UVA. In other words, let’s kick out the redneck schools that make our conference look trashy and replace them with highly respected universities (except for Oklahoma, that would be a straight football move).

To add to this, I would love to add Clemson and FSU to the conference to make it 16 teams. I understand that will never happen, but I like the idea of two southeastern football schools with good academics who already have rivals in the SEC.

Clemson should of been added instead of Scar.

You are literally too stupid to insult

I like them both. I would be upset to see UofSC exit the conference for any reason; however, I was born after the '92 expansion, so my sentiment toward teams like Ark and SC is more inviting because I grew up with those teams in the conference.
I think SC is a very valuable addition to the SEC. They have great baseball and women's basketball programs, and the University itself is a great school. Additonally, South Carolina is a very southeastern state, and I'm glad it's in the SEC footprint.

This feels like an appropriate place to post this.

Without a doubt. shite is way too monetized. For Arkansas, we never get to play UGA or Tennessee or South Carolina. But we get Missouri every year!! Who the f would rather go to COMO in November over Athens, Knoxville or Columbia SC. I think we'll next play at UF 30 years from now when it's flag football
CFP didn't help either. I'm realistic, we aren't powerhouses, but 99% of the attention is paid to Alabama and whoever #2 is. Honestly I know they will whip us every year, so let's just talk about some other teams. I don't see how people can listen to finebaum discuss their greatness for hours and hours every day for months. I simply don't care that much.
Even our local media obsesses over the CFP as if it matters. Quit trying to gin up controversy. The #5 team will always feel screwed out of a spot. The analysis used to be about players and x's and o's, or at least teams vs teams. Now it is all hypothetical conference vs conference bs. Thinly veiled sectional rivalries to feed our tribalism

Clemson is also in the state of South Carolina and owns Scar in all sports now. Night and day difference.
