Did Coach Cal make any adjustments or have a game plan going in?

I love Coach Cal and think he’s a national treasure, but last night reiterated he’s definitely a “win with talent” coach vs. a “win with coaching” kind of guy.

Would it be mean-spirited to say he lost with talent & coaching ?

Arizona looks like a great team. If they played like they did against Arkansas rest of the way, they will win it all.

Zona exploited the defensive rotation by the bigs that has been a problem all year due to their ball watching and lack of lateral quickness.

Their guards were able to handle the pressure with defensive changes picking them up full court and at the half court line.

This was the common theme in all the losses, zona was one of 9 teams with guards strong enough with the ball to exploit it.

Same issue at Kentucky, terrible "in game" coach who lost to lesser teams with less talent but better coaches. Watch the Regional game early in his career at Kentucky and Huggy Bear schooled him. Painful was the Final Four game he lost to Wisconsin.

Damn CBS, you didn't have to do the infographic dirty like this.

Does Cal ever even grab the marker board to work on a play during time outs?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen him do it

He did at Kentucky, I assume he does at Arkansas too. Unless its an inbounds play. He never had a plan to defend the inbounds.

I said earlier this season that Cal an elite recruiter but they play up and down.

He comes across as more of a just roll the ball out there and out-talent the opposition. Not a real X’s and O’s Guy when it comes to strategy.

That being said, Arizona is good enough to beat anyone.

There was nothing that could have been done. Arizona hasn’t lost since early February, and they started hot. They have a shitload of talent, and basically stayed on fire all game.

Yeah, unfortunately, we didn't have a lot of talent in the front court. Man, what a beat down. Arizona is as good as the Florida team that ran us off the court earlier in the year and it's for the same reasons, they just smashed us inside. No rim defense combined with matador style guarding on drives.

Another year, another sweet 16 and I'm tired of those.

You got Cal, this may be your ceiling while he is there.

Arizona looked really good last night. They just have so many options across the board, Arky stood no chance.
