Yeah, kept saying he was the 1964 Mr. Irrelevant. Look it up, he wasn't.

Curry lied about the brick through his window to deflect the criticism after losing to Ole Miss on homecoming. This is the same man that lied about his wife getting a death threat from a Bama fan in the grocery store in T-town before he ever coached a game. This is the same man who, while at Kentucky, said he couldn't do his coaching show after a loss because his family had received death threats.

Where is the police reports, the pictures of the broken window. Where is the damn proof.

I've never seen any proof, only what Mr. Curry has told the press and the press has run with. No proof, just his word.

If he actually lied about all of this, he's a big loser.

The crap about him lying about it came out years and years later, ONLY after gump took years and years of shite from it.

I think the gumps saying it didn't happen are the liars because they got sick of hearing about it on ESPN once Curry became a commentator and mentioned it several times.

It is not like gumps are above revisionist history (NC claims) and not accepting blame (the whole probation thing).

Just like it's not past Au fans to repeat alot of lies hoping it'll change perceptions of what really happened in an attempt to bring Bama down, since they can't rise up to them.

I make relevant points like it was not denied until YEARS later AFTER Curry started yapping about it on ESPN embarrassing bama further.

You post irrelevant garbage.

Remember a few years ago, a bunch of Barners actually started a rumor that Brodie had got killed in a hunting accident. No, Auburn fans don't make up lies.

No, he was definitely lying about it. WE didn't have to deny it to the nation b/c he didn't start running his mouth about it outside alabama until years later.

You'd be sick of hearing a lie about you as well

8 titles were awarded by coaches and Ap, 4 came before it (awarded by legit sources, CFBD recognizes them)

I and many others said we did wrong, we were just pissed we were the only ones punished becuase several other schools and coaches (including the great pumpkin) were bidding on him and other players (including tee martin) and the ncaa looked the other way.

The head coaches office then and now was on the 2nd story of the complex and fenced off.

I don't doubt there could've been a brick thru a window, but it wasn't thru Bill Curry's window. Fans are stupid and do stupid things.

Bill Curry on the other hand is a pussy. He may be a good man, but he couldn't handle the pressure. He got chewed up and spit out of the SEC meat grinder.

He wanted to get out and was looking for ways out early in his career at Alabama.

I'll give him some credit though. He had a few good teams, but he just ran up against Auburn at a bad time. They were buying the best players around back then and were no joke.

I agree with you. I remember when all of this came out after this game. It's been 20 years, and I'm just now hearing all of this bs that it didn't happen.

Curry's .722 winning percentage remains the highest of any 'Bama coach since Bear. He won two SEC coach of the year awards and one SEC title. So where did he go wrong? One, the Georgia Tech alum and coach came from outside the 'Bama "family" and from a school that Bryant publicly despised, no less. Secondly, he never beat Auburn. His wife received death threats. After a homecoming loss to Ole Miss in 1988, someone threw a brick through his office window. It also came out in '89 that two-thirds of his players were on academic probation

From sports illustrated. He went from 9-2 to 10-1 regular season his last two years at bama and had the highest winning percentage of any coach not named Bear at bama.

In reward, his wife received death threats and gumps threw bricks at him all because Pat Dye beat him. No wonder he hates bama.

If Saban want to, yeah. Bama fans will be asking Saban to run it up and bury him. I don't think Saban will, but I hope he does.

Here's a pretty decent article printed in 1990 after his departure.

LINK

He was a bad fit at Bama, mouthy and whiney. Probably both sides were at fault, but it was best that he was gone in the end.
