It's not that difficult, really. The SEC chant has become proportional to the "SEC fatigue" the nation is feeling. As they get more and more tired of us, we feel more and more that we need to remind them that we aren't going anywhere.
If an SEC team beats USC (or whoever the media props up) in Miami, the chant should be deafening.

A lot of other teams' fans hate the SEC as much if not more than individual SEC teams, so this chant is just another slap in their faces. It figures that an aubbie wouldn't get it.

The chant is really good marketing. It is a reminder to all watching that the SEC is the top brand around.

And correct me if I'm wrong, it wasn't because any of them hated on Bammer, it was because they persist in thinking that SEC superiority is a "myth," right?
Point being, they attack us as a whole with as much (if not more) fervor than they attack us as individual teams. As such, we respond on behalf of the whole when we roll their shitty teams.
