Did the US military make America or did America make the US military?

The reason why is obvious. Talent. It somehow miraculously accumulated there. One of life's great mysteries.

Bear liked A&M but mama came calling. Saban HATED LSU, jumped shipped when the chance arrived. He likes Bama about as much as he could like a school(much better than LSU) and told the Tigers to kick rocks when they reached out to Sexton.

So name the quantifiable advantage.

1) Alabama is a national name brand not a regional brand
As I have said recruits know they are good to great when Alabama shows up to recruit them.

2) Alabama has a recruiting area with a radius of about 500 miles. While other schools have that same radius, a recruit will drop other schools and turn their attention to Alabama.

3) Alabama's history is second to none, and that is documented (wins, titles, bowls, etc.). If a athlete wants to compete and win national titles while in college Alabama is the school to go to.

4) Alabama has played in and won more NC games than any other team. Just starting at 1970 (71, 73, 74, 77, 78, 79, 89, 92, 09, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21)

5) Alabama has a winning record over every team they have played 11 times or more, and is the only school in college football that can say that.

6) Alabama has won at least 1 NC every decade since 1920 (except the 50's and 80's, and even then played for the title in 1989)

7) Recruits know they will be well coached and ready for the next level if they come to Alabama.

8) Even when Alabama hires a bad coach, they manage to win at least 10 games (well, not Whitworth)

9) 12 coaches have led the Crimson Tide in postseason bowl games: Wallace Wade, Frank Thomas, Harold Drew, Bear Bryant, Ray Perkins, Bill Curry, Gene Stallings, Mike DuBose, Dennis Franchione, Mike Shula, Joe Kines, and Saban.

10) Alabama has played and won more bowl games than any other college team.

All these are advantages Alabama has over other schools, and recruits know it, or find it out.

Thank you for allowing me to prove my point

Alabama invented football. They just happened to have the Bear from 1958-1982. And Saban from 2007 to now. Stallings was a “good coach” who won a championship so props to him. The seasons 1983-1991 don’t count. Neither does 1997-2006. So when your school had good seasons it doesn’t mean anything. Once Saban leaves, let’s see if that 11 win per season average continues.

Dude, get over the bitterness. Alabama was great before Bryant and before Saban. Between those two, Stallings averaged 10 wins per season.

Les Miles and Ed O won natties at LSU. LSU has proven that a good coach can win natties at LSU...LSU doesn't need a great coach to be successful...anyone who doubts how dangerous it is for the rest of the SEC for LSU to have Bryan Kelly in red stick is simply dumb or refuses to acknowledge how good LSU can be with a low-end good coach like Miles and Ed O....Kelly may not get it done but I wouldn't bet against it...
Yes thank you. Someone gets it.
