#2 Oak Ridge may be in TN but that is USA gov at work. Not many places to put Oak Ridge back in the day. TVA and Hoover Dam probably the biggest water energy producers at the time

1. Please don't insinuate that I'm not as simple as my compatriots.
2. The first TVA dam isn't too far from Oak Ridge. This allowed facilities for Uranium and Plutonium production and Alcoa to produce Aluminum in the area...which was huge for the war effort.
