Yeah, that isn't an arrestable offense in Columbia. You're supposed to just get a fine for that. Not quite sure why they were arrested and processed.

To the poster who asked about pot being decriminalized in Columbia....
MARIJUANA
Basically, if you are caught with a small amount of marijuana in Columbia, you get a ticket. If you are found guilty, you may be fined up to $250.
There are exceptions to that rule.
Columbia’s marijuana ordinance does NOT apply to people in the following categories:
-Found guilty of a felony within 10 years prior
-Found guilty of a Class A state misdemeanor, other than marijuana possession, within preceding five years
-Found guilty in state OR municipal court of misdemeanor marijuana possession on two or more prior occasions within five years
-Been arrested on suspicion of any felony or state misdemeanor offense that arises from the same set of facts and circumstances as did the alleged marijuana offense.
They probably wouldn't have been arrested if they were off-campus, instead of on-campus. I'm guessing campus is stricter than city.

I wondered about that too - could it be that campus doesn't allow it at all? Maybe campus policy is stricter than city ordinance? I don't think CPD could have arrested them, but MUPD did....

I'm gettin real sick of these campus clowns trying to get attention. Not just at MU, but everywhere.. these fat bellies are just pissed they don't get to live the big time. I bet the cop that arrested them had a boner the whole time. Gotta love the Police State, only gonna get worse.
