In a way, my hometown neck of the woods knows White as much or more than most anywhere in LA.

He's from Springhill, literally right on the Arkansas border and about 25 min from where I grew across the line.

It was just announced that White is set to appear as the celebrity guest at a tiny festival in an infnatismly small town (about 350 ppl) just across the border in Arkansas and about 15 min from his hometown.

He didn't have to do this. The festival is obviously not able to pay him much and he will probably be out there for a parade and maybe even a guest judge.

I also hear he's doing lots of these type of events around his hometown area now. His town is poor and rural, just like most of the towns in that area, but it's obvious he's shown how much the area means to him.

I saw him play in high school against the likes of Haynesville and Homer, etc...all rivals and other small towns. The people in that area adore him.

He seems like the genuine article and a very decent person. He's even a little redneck and who just got drafted top 5 in the nfl.

I'll always root for the kid.

He would have been a star at Arkansas if he would have went there. Made everyone better around him

Would have been a lot of fun to watch him play RB since that's where Bielema wanted him, but obviously playing LB is what made him $$$

Devin is a stand up dude. One of my favorite all time LSU players regardless of how his pro career goes.

He is a Buc now so will always be a fan of him. As long as he doesn't steal crab legs and rape women.

He might ride a horse or 4 wheeler to practice, but he won;t do either of those things.

An outstanding SEC LB and I wish White the very best in his NFL career. I’m very glad as a Bama fan Devin decided to go pro. That is the most respectful thing I can saw about him.

Did he target anyone at the parade yet?

You do realize that White could've easily ended Fitzgerald's life on that play if that was really targeting or he wanted to.

DW oozes class & is a respectful, hard-working, horse-riding country kid from Smalltown USA. From a place like where so many of us are from.

Amazing what doors can open when doing the right thing is more important than doing the easy thing.

Wish nothing but the best for him.

It’s obvious who the cocky, entitled, drama queens will be. LSU has had them. It was clear from day 1 that wasn’t DW. Very genuine and seemingly just overall good person who also has the capability to murder anyone he wants.

Devin White is like Jesus in many ways. He is humble but you can tell he has great power. He was poor but his attitude and personality allowed him to rise to great heights.

He is from a rural area, just as Jesus was, and seems to care for the weakest and most vulnerable among us, just as Jesus did. Devin hasn't let his fame and popularity prevent him from associating with the wretched and isolated.

Devin cares for everyone and tries to elevate those around him while downplaying his own greatness. That is a sign of great wisdom, which Devin possesses and which was also a trait of Jesus.

Devin is admired and loved by legions of people who see in him their salvation and know that they too, can perhaps have a life like his if they try to imitate his life choices. A lot of people admired Jesus too, and strove to emulate him.

God bless Devin.
