If nothing else, I'm glad that the rest of the country got to see that it's not the same old Clemson. To think 4 years ago we gave up 70 to West Virginia in the Orange Bowl, you'd have gotten a good laugh if you told me we'd be 14-0 in the national title game this year.

Watson is clearly the best player I've ever seen wear the Orange and purple, I'm already excited for next season.

Watson against Kevin Steele's defense on opening day? Yes, please.

You should be, he's as good a player as I've ever seen in person (and I feel like I've seen quite a few great ones). All the Clemson folks before and after the game were great, we all had a great time and it was the 2nd most exciting game I have ever been to (slightly behind the 2012 game with Georgia).

Hopefully we get to do it again in Tampa next year.

They have some things in common. They are both from Hall County. I've seen both play many times.

Did I mention they were both from Hall County

So much better throwing and extending plays than I was expecting. He was better than Cam was against Bama.

#NotSureIfSerious

... but just in case.

Shaw is in the NFL.

Shaw was 4-0 against Clemson. (or wait, he may have been hurt one of those years and Dylan Thompson won that game.)

Shaw is a big-hearted football player.

There are parallels.

Winners are winners. Watson is a winner. Shaw is a winner.

He was a bigger, stronger, more relaxed and more pinpoint version of Johnny Manziel. He isn't quite as quick as Manziel, but he probes the pocket like Manziel used to and he does it with the intention of making a throw, not running. He really is a mix between Manziel and Newton. And that is terrifying.

You're right come to think of it ... Shaw only threw one interception his senior year.

I know Cam didn't do that and I doubt Watson is going to do it.

Shaw is in the NFL the same John Parker Wilson was in the NFL for 3 years. I mean, Shaw was a very good college player. He is not in any way in the same category as Watson.

AJ McCarron had a higher QB Rating than Shaw in both 2013 and 2014. He also won 95% of his games, 2 national championships, and is also in the NFL. He threw 30 TDs and 3 INTs in 2012 and posted a 175.3 rating.

AJ McCarron is not in the same class as DeShaun Watson.

Not trying to rain on Clemsons parade, you guys had a great season, but let's be honest here DW is Clemsons team. He is in the top 3 of qbs in tbe nation. When he leaves Clemson will be Clemsoning again. He is the difference maker, not Dabo.

Watson vs. SC: 20-27 279 yrds 1 TD
21 car 114 yrds 3 TD

Watson vs. Bama: 30-47 405 yrds 4 TD 1 INT
20 car 73 yrds

Our shite tier defense did better.... if we had more than just Pharoh Cooper we would've beat Clemson.

10 wins, 11 wins, 11 wins, 10 wins, 14 wins. Seem to have been doing ok pre-DW too.

But Dabo has done some amazing stuff with average talent. Like that walkon that caught the first 2 TD passes. Or several freshman playing on both LOS's. He's got more going on than DW.

When Dabo leaves, which he will. Can't imagine Dabo not going to Bama at some point.

He actually posted a better QB rating against South Carolina than he did against Alabama

173.1 vs USCe
160.0 vs Alabama

Just saying we held our own vs. Clemson. I expected Bama to wipe the floor with them. They didn't score on us until 8:42 left in the 2nd Qtr. Clemson was also our highest scoring game... lol.

Bama fans are not going to admit it ... they are too busy fawning over Watson because he almost single-handedly beat them.

Clemson may have the best group of WRs in the country.

The fact remains, we almost beat them with a walk-on QB, an interim HC, depleted talent and the program in turmoil at the time having just lost to The Citadel.

I'm not sure about the transitives, or what parallels there are to draw ... but I'm sure there are some in there somewhere.

The Watson worship by the gumps IS getting old though. He's a great player, and we all told them they needed to spy Watson and contain him ... which they failed to do. He must be that good. The Bama worship of Watson is beneath them though ... at least IMHO.

It's almost like Clemson won the game and they are trying to make excuses or something? I do not get it.

I mean, teams don't always play at peak performance. They were 15-0, hammered Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, were highly thought of in the efficiency rankings. They were a really good team.

Lost to us every one of those years too. Also, that is against an acc schedule. Don't be fooled. Clemson has always had plenty of talent, it has always been coaching that is the problem.
