Wut? You're not watching the game? You want someone to link him jumping up off the ground and pounding his chest like an ape? Gtfo.

Pathetic, son. You should be ashamed, not trying to deflect the thug move that took place.

well i know he is not free game before the ball arrives, but you see a lot of guys try and time it where they hit the PR who hasn't called a FC. the vandy player looked like he was making an attempt at a catch and the arky player hit him.

fair catch not called... he was shielding his eyes from the sun.

I thought he called for fair catch - but it doesn't matter at all. He could just be standing there waiting on the punt with both hands down and you still cannot hit him before the ball gets to him. This was a flagrant as I have ever seen.

And if the ball had gotten there, he would have been flagged for leading with the helmet.

This dirtbag should be suspended for the rest of the year.

That's a little extreme

I think it was a stupid, classless play. But I've never seen anyone get ejected for that before. It's happened plenty of times over the years and never have I seen an ejection.

If helmet to helmet hits = ejections, chad jones should have been ejected a few years ago when he clobbered Joe Adams. Right?

I'm not saying what Wade did was right, I just want to know what the rule is on ejections. What makes SOME personal fouls ejection worthy? I thought you had to throw punches?

And i'll call bullshite on the celebration stuff. That shite happens EVERY, SINGLE big play. You watch an LSU/Bama series when the defense comes up huge and tell me they don't jump around.

Didn't realize getting a penalty was a big play?

Don't remember Chad jumping up and down (he had trouble getting up). Doubt Wade got thrown out for the hit itself.

Explain how that was equitable to "the defense coming up huge"

Please link 1 play, where the ball is not within 5 yards of the returner after he's waved for a fair catch, where the defender takes his head off. We'll all wait.

Big play?

It was an arse raping of a defenseless player by a street thug. Is that what Arky calls a big play, and. compares to plays made by Bama and LSU? And you want to taken seriously in the SEC?

This is a good comparison. Jones on Adams. And if you didn't think there was woofing going on, you're being a homer. You couldn't find many LSU fans that would say it was cheap.

Bottom line is Wade made a cheap shot and the kid got thrown out for woofing around. It was bad and the coach will deal with it. But, please don't act like we have a lock on the market.

Yeah, that was a cheap shot by Casey Dick that year.

Bad play. The guy acted like trash when he got up. I agree with the call and ejection.

That said, the gunners can have difficulty timing out the catch as another posted has pointed out. The rationale being that the punt returner will identify the likely hood of being blown up by clearly make a fair catch ( I thought the returner did in this instance, but apparently is debatable) or back away from the punt and waving every one away (short punt). The gunner likely assumed (wrongly) that if neither of the 2 occurred that he had it timed out leading to the grossly early hit. The returner looked like he was battling the sun and may not have sensed how close the defenders were. None the less, the POS behavior exhibited afterwards was disgusting. If I would inadvertently blown someone up like that back in the day, I would hope the guy was not seriously injured and shake his hand afterwards in apology.

I hope you are kidding. Perhaps you should go rewatch that clip. Jones went down and LSU players ran in and immediately started checking to make sure he was ok.

Penalty should have been called, but returner stepped up and into the path of a gunner going full speed. It's not like the returner was just standing there waiting.

Don't know about the ejection. Didn't see what Wade did after the hit, didn't show it on TV. Not sure ejection is even an option unless a punch was thrown.

So the consensus is that he was ejected for celebrating?

So we've got kick-catch interference for the actual hit (wasn't called).

Personal foul for celebrating?

Let me reiterate this for the Rantards: I do not condone or approve of the play. I think it was horseshite. But I'm just not satisfied with the reasoning behind the ejection. It seems overly subjective.
