If Arkansas had good QB play during his time then he would have back to back 2,000 yards rushing. He would have won the heisman and had an SEC title. Possibly would have played Ohio State in the title game.

Instead he got injured and his body worn down at Arkansas. That carried over to Oakland and he got injured several more times, he was never the same player.

I’ll admit. He is much more effective that I predicted. He’s not that great, though. He needs a couple more great seasons.

He has set records in HS, College, and the NFL.

What do you want?

The man is a freak. It's time that it is accepted.

Rare screw up by Stallings.

Stallings firmly believed you played like you practiced. Say what you want about his decision but he held his players to a standard and if they failed to meet it they wouldn't see the field. Towards the end of the season Alexander started to see the light and that helped lead us to wins over LSU and Michigan.

Walker was a great college rb but he was the starting rb for 3 years and it was mostly a run first run last offense. Henry had to wait his turn snd played in an era of a more balanced offense.

We were comparing their best seasons, not careers so I'm not sure why how many years they started matters. And playing in a more balanced offense benefits Henry because the defense can key on Walker all night long.

So you turn to the NFL for comparison.

But why? It has no bearing on the conversation. You also failed to mention that Walker spent his prime in the USFL and is still #12 in all purpose yards.

In his Heisman season...

Henry faced 7 ranked teams
Henry faced 14 teams with a winning record

In his Heisman season...
Walker faced 3 teams that finished ranked
Walker faced 7 teams with winning records

But Herschel best year wasn't his heisman year.

A lot of truth to that. Henry, Fournette, and Chubb all had superior talent helping them out, making it easier for them.

Georgia probably lost the 2 and 26 game because they played Chubb so much instead of the more effective and deadly Swift.

Swift getting hurt in the 2nd half didnt help. We also lost our top WR in the first half. Shocking to Bama fans, I am certain.

Imagine Derrick Henry running against the same defenses as Walker. Those would be some WILD arse numbers.

Posters on here don’t understand how good he (McFadden) was

This poster does…Arky would just direct snap it to McFadden prolly 15 times a game with no kind of plan except run D Mac run. Incredible that McFadden, Felix Jones, and Peyton Hillis were in the same backfield together.

After 4 pages I have come to one definitive conclusion.

Arkansas fans have no idea what a decade is.

No they wouldn’t.

Herschel is the best RB to ever put on a uniform. He was literally Georgia’s whole offense, everyone knew he was getting the ball and couldn’t stop him.

I’m about as rabid a Bama fan as you will find, but the truth is the truth.

Gurley was something serious at Georgia! I'm a BAMA but I was impressed with his game.

Yep but had no QB that could throw the ball nor any WRs either.

Other RBs of that time like Reggie Bush and Adrian Petersen had heisman winning QBs and WRs that were first round to second round draft picks.

Can not include Vincent Jackson as football was only a hobby.

Derrick Henry is the only player to have 2,000-yard rushing seasons in high school, college, and the NFL.

Greatness travels.

Always torn between him and Sanders, but you're not wrong. He was truly unstoppable.
