Happy that Milroe and Rees will be gone.

What happened to Lanning?
We rescinded our offer when we learned from our rivals on this board that he was an awful hire.

Homerun? He may turn out to be great, but homerun is TBD for a guy nobody from Bama would have even listed as an option 1 year ago.

Please do keep bumping this thread.
He seems like a good coach, but realistically there is a very slim chance he will be successful enough to satisfy the Bama fanbase. Some cold facts to consider are:
- no SEC experience
- at least three high profile coaches publicly turned down the job (and I cannot believe that Kirby was not asked in a private way, and he said no)
- only one successful season on the national stage, was that lightning in a bottle?
- recruits and players are bailing out now
Also, the deal is not done….if he turns down the Gumps where will they turn….

It’s going to be hard for him recruiting wise being that he has never held a coaching job in the south. Farthest south he was ever coaching was Indiana. It’s hard to recruit down hear without knowing any of the high school coaches

Its Bama, NFLU. You don;t need to know HS by first name basis.

Of course you are. Until you're not.
It's fine hire, but the expectations tend to crush those following legends.
Good luck to your team and its new coach.

He was recruiting the south every year he was at Notre Dame. Not even remotely close to the same thing.

He went from not being in anybody top 5 to a homerun hire overnight?
I guess the other targets were homeowners hires too?
Lol. Ok.
