The slow starts on offense are the issue. They come out looking all crazy eyed, getting penalties, confused with some bad playcalling mixed in. Basically, they set themselves up for playing from behind. Now, some of that could have something to do with how young they are. I don't know. We'll see. When they get going, they look very good.

That is a team wide issue. You can’t put that solely on one coordinator. It was 21-6 FSU twenty minutes into the game. Both sides of the ball were an issue in the first quarter. But after FSU went up 21-6 Alabama woke up and outscored them 44-15.
I agree the slow starts are concerning. But faced with the alternative of starting fast and then falling apart and losing, I will take a slow start and a win.
The bright side is that it appears Alabama’s coordinators are very good at making in game adjustments.

He has taken last year's fast starts and slow finishes and flipped it. I guess I prefer it this way. But, a complete game or two would be nice.
Although, that UK win is looking much better. Even this one with FSU with a bye and Norvell playing for his a job ended pretty well. The lighting delays did no one any favors for momentum. But, damn that emotional swing right before half was something else.

Fit is such a lame arse term. Deboer will either win at a high level or he won’t.
If Deboer wins the NC this year, no one will give a damn about whether he is a “fit” At Alabama.
But they’ll move on and start bitching about not winning multiple NCs like CNS.

I'm with Finebaum on this. Good coach. Maybe he could win a title in the B1G. He's just not a Bama guy. Doesn't fit in the South.

Deboer strikes me more like Mark Richt, albeit inheriting a program coming from a different place. Did Richt “not fit in the SEC”? I could be persuaded if that has some narrow but consistent definition.
Regardless, it’s immaterial. Just win, baby
