Bama fan here, but one has 2 national championships, and the other has 0.
This feels Auburn-esque trying to find a positive out of absolutely anything they can find.
We won a regular season game. Both teams will be in the playoffs and there is a lot of season to go.

I don't think anyone thinks DeBoer is a better coach than Smart. Smart was at Bama long enough that most Bama fans know what type of a coach he is and is cut from the same cloth that Saban is, so he has to be good.
But you can't compare DeBoer's first year record to Kirby's 9th year. That's comparing apples to oranges. Kirby's first year he went 8-5 and before you say roster talent, both of those rosters had good talent. First year for coaches and new systems have to be allowed to have a learning curve for the first season.
But I think until DeBoer wins an SEC title he's not in the conversation as a better coach than Kirby. But it still doesn't mean DeBoer isn't a good coach. I think this season he's proven he can coach at a high level. Wouldn't you agree?
