Nothing to melt over. Kelley is a good, but not great hire (only LSU fans seem to think it's a homerun).
He has name recognition, which seemed to be the primary driver. That box was getting harder to check in a gear with several top jobs and a very thin talent pool.
I would have more concern if LSU hired Aranda or Riley.

So this is my question, what will be different at LSU than he could do at Notre Dame in recruiting? Notre Dame has the budget and the prestige. They had a pretty exclusive TV contract. And didn’t have to commit to playing in a conference.
He’s the winningest coach in ND history but if you’re wanting a championship coach, he’s never won a D1 Championship. So I’m not understanding the Saban-esque mystique that’s been attached to him.

This guy is the most overrated coach in college football. I hope he signed a 30 deal with LSU
