Mullen is a good coach and he could win there not having to contend with the meat grinder of the West.

I agree that he is good, I just don't know if Maryland is a truly viable place for football. I know they have Under Armour money and are in the bad B10 division........but they've never had sustained success outside of years they had NFL HOF/Super Bowl QBs.
I don't think DC/Jersey/Norfolk kids even consider Maryland an option at all. Maybe it's possible, I just don't see it.

He's a yank. Closer to home.

This is basically on repeat every year. Someone always wants him; never happens.

GridironNow is actually a legitimate site. Tony Barnhart is their main columnist. It isn't some fan site.

Because Maryland is selling the narrative that Under Armour will do for them what Nike did for Oregon.

I don't get it. He could do better.

Absolutely zero facts in the article. Just "Mullen would be interested".
They paid their last coach 2.1 million a year. Good luck to paying the buyout and then jumping to 5 million annually.

Like I said, makes no sense to me. Crappy stadium, crappy facilities, "promise" of Baltimore Under Armour money, but nothing in place yet.

The Big 10 East is about as bad as the SEC West. You have tOSU(Urban), Mich(Harbaugh), MState(Dantonio), and Penn State(Franklin) to deal with. State is in much better shape to win than freaking Maryland, Under Armour or not.

He so gone he might not even coach the egg bowl.

Ah, didn't even realize they were in the difficult division.
Yea, that makes zero sense. People at State care about football, regardless of their lack of history. You don't even get that at Maryland.

He looks like a lobster boat guy.
