This is what makes Odom take the Purdue job seem puzzling. I get why UNLV hired Mullen. I just can’t figure out why a ten win coach like Odom settles for a shitty Purdue job. Nobody is gonna win there. I think their ceiling might be 8 wins

Agree with this. He could have stayed at MSU as long as he wanted. I think we were almost always bowl eligible with some 8-9 win seasons. Beat Ole Miss often enough. The State fan base was more than happy with that. I would imagine UNLV fans would be just as happy.

They’ll have to find a new conference if they want to make a playoff, the Mountain West is getting gutted in 2026.
