Southern is a very good team. They’ll be hosting and might play themselves into a Top 8 this year. Looking at their remaining schedule, they’ve gotten a lot of their toughest games out of the way already and just kinda have to not screw it up in the Sun Belt. They don’t even have to play Coastal this year.
State will be fine too. Two one run losses to Top 10 teams, both where you overcame a 3+ run deficit, took the lead, and made a couple of mistakes to not finish it off. They may drop some series where they can’I close out some tight games, similar to the last few days, but they’re also going to have weekends where they just blitz the heck out of teams with that lineup. And still feel good about the pitching too, especially once you factor in the first two weekend starters.
