Current SEC head coaches ranked by losses in their first 2 seasons at current school

1. Kirby Smart (Georgia) 7
T1. Mike Elko (A&M — 7
3. Kalen DeBoer (Alabama) — 8
4. Josh Heupel (Tennessee) — 9
5. Brent Venables (Oklahoma) — 10
6. Shane Beamer (South Carolina) — 11 7. Eli Drinkwitz (Missouri) — 12
T7. Steve Sarkisian (Texas) — 12
9. Clark Lea (Vanderbilt) — 19
I wonder if Lane will take the top spot on this list at the end of 2027. He'd be tied for 2nd at 8 losses had he stayed at Ole Miss.
Georgia before Kirby: 10-3
Bama before Deboer: 12-2
Ole Miss before Kiffin: 4-8
Much tougher situation for Kiffin at a bottom feeder school coming off of 4 straight losing seasons and no SEC titles since 1963.

Heupel went 7-6 & 11-2 in years 1 and 2 for 8 losses
