With this logic, “I don’t care if the guy just shot somebody else, it wasn’t on video…but that cop attacking him needs to be punished.”
Correct, even if someone shot somebody, the police are not supposed to attack them if they are no longer a threat. If they have put the gun down and have given themselves up the police are supposed to simply arrest them, not dole out punishment. It doesn’t matter what happened early, when a subject is not resisting and isn’t a threat, the police are not supposed to beat them.
Even if they got punched by someone earlier while off duty.
Alabama Deputy Sentenced to Three Years for Brutal Traffic Stop
That one is a horrifying and fascinating situation. They never arrested anyone for the murder of the guy who was paying his legal fees and protesting the police. He was shot and his body posed. I wonder who could have done it? And though there were 8 officers present at the beating and dispatchers and others in the department had helped him track the guy down, only one person received any punishment. Some think he was the scapegoat for a corrupt department.
Neither can the cops set up an ambush to execute someone.
Alabama Officer Charged with Murder Over Shooting
This one is interesting when you watch security footage from a neighbors house, you can see the officers position themselves around the house before the towtruck arrived and the shooting started within seconds of the victim coming out of his house. Plus it turned out his truck wasn’t subject to repossession. They set it up to murder him for some reason.
Video Shows Officers Moving Into Position, Fatal Shooting
You can’t even paralyze someone because they don’t speak English.
BBC - Indian Citizen Speaks Out After Being Assaulted by Officer
Again, the police where completely out of line. The interesting thing is that despite being charged with assault by the state, civil rights violations by the feds, and losing a $1.75 million dollar judgement, Madison later hired the same officer back to the force.
Those are just the 3 most egregious cases, or at least the ones that got the most press, within a 50 mile radius of Huntsville, AL over the last 10 years. My point is that while most officers may be good, there are some psychopaths. And others who have anger issues. And others who power trip. Yet almost all of them rally around to defend them, even the bad ones, when one is accused of something. Even when there is video that shows they were in the wrong.

White boy rode the lightening there for a minute.

I believe this is what most people are missing. The entire incident began because two cops wouldn’t allow kids, whatever age, to go get their tickets from their parents! Unless there were multiple incidents.
One cop could have escorted them, if they deemed it necessary.

I don’t know what started it but it better be legit. I try and be supportive of law enforcement but when they do crap like this, I tend to favor the guy sitting down and not posing a threat. He did not seem to be a threat.

You ain’t going to get anything but a ride to the police station and a summons to appear. They may dismiss but you will spend 2 grand on a dumbass lawyer and lose 3 days work.

That was just 1 of several assaults by the police that day.
That game needs to start being played home and home like the rest of us in the SEC.
We don’t get to play Bama in Nashville
LSU doesn’t get aTm in Atlanta.
Just doesnt make much since
Same goes for the Red river rivalry.
Home and home

Here a new angle I came across on Facebook. The old man is sitting on the ground and the same cop slams a taser in his chest and lights him up.

Here is where cops are retarded, when you are literally beating someone, they are going to “resist”. It’s instinct to out your arms over your head so you aren’t killed

If that’s the same black cop in both videos, he’s fricked. One incident, maybe he gets a slap on the wrist. If he’s heavily involved in 2 separate incidents now you have a consistent pattern of behavior.

That’s fricked up I see the cop above him punch the other man in the head too.
Ga fans seem to be helping the cops in the assault.
I hope they sue

Jacksonville Police Department
It isn't a "police department", it is the JSO, or Jacksonville Sherrif's Office. Most of them are good men and women. The idiots need to be addressed.
But the last thing needed is a bunch of Monday morning quarter backs spewing shite on social media. Pretty sure the body cam footage is already in the office.

Sounded like the victim said the magic word to the cop a few times. Since he pushed his hand away he will now get charged with a hate crime
That still doesn't give the black cop the right to beat up the man when he's already on the ground. He's in uniform, the standard is higher for him compared to some random white guy who's at the game and probably drunk.
The black cop is now going to lose his job and the jerk white guy is going to get a nice settlement from the Jacksonville Police Department. So who really wins there?
Plus you now give any redneck white guy the same idea. Yell the "n" word to a black cop and hope he beats you up so you get a payday out of it. This black cop just made the lives of many other black cops a lot harder.
Jacksonville is just lucky it was this situation. It shouldn't matter but we know it does. If it had been a white cop doing this to a black male this would be on national news on every channel. Most like Trump and Kamala would even be commenting on it.

I bet these men were treated much better once they were restrained in cuffs and behind bars.

This is what's going to happen about 99.9999999% of the time. Obviously, it's a bad idea to litigate in the street BUT the fact that this is the go-to answer for over-zealous state agents should be UNACCEPTABLE. It should be almost unheard of for an agent of the state to find themselves in a situation where a citizen's options are limited to litigating in the street or cowing to the power of the state and hoping for nothing more than a couple of thousand dollars in lost wages and aggravation.
It could be stopped IMMEDIATELY if, in the rare occasion someone faces a situation like this and they do indeed litigate the offense within the system and prevail the offending party pays all costs out of their pockets, not the taxpayers. It should also result in criminal charges for the offending party. It is against the law to violate someone's civil rights under the color of law. When, in the rare instance someone prevails, the offending party should be forced to pay any damages themselves and they should face criminal penalty.
I get it, cops have a hard job. It is not a dangerous job by any measure as evidenced by statistics....almost all construction occupations are deadlier and result in more injury than being a policeman in the US. It is a hard job though, that is without question....dealing with drunks and criminals is tough. About 90% of the citizens encountered by police are not drunk and if they are criminals the offense is very minor in nature...speeding, tail light out, that sort of thing. If they were exposed to being personally responsible for civil rights violations, monetarily and criminally, they would not act the way they do. Many would find another way to earn a living....which is a net positive because it means those left are of the opinion that they can do the work without violating civil rights. It would also mean their wages would increase because there would be fewer qualified applicants. This will never happen, however, because far to many Americans are simply willing to accept any abuse of power by an agent of the state in order to maintain "order". Bootlicking is the epitome of sacrificing freedom for security.

Holy frick you are a weirdo.
It is weird to accept the idea that one should always accept the power of the state over the freedom of the individual? That is the essence of the idea of "comply or die" and that idea is the generally societal opinion of what one should do when confronted by any agent of the state no matter the situation.
What's weird is the idea that societally the idea of "complying or dying" exists at all. The fact that there is the smallest of chances that a citizen's civil rights could be violated by an agent of the state and at best the outcome is that the citizen loses some freedom and some amount of money while the violator suffers little or not at all is far weirder than accepting what is obviously the standard...comply or die.

Anyone that doesn't see the cops committing crimes of assault and battery on people sitting in their seats is an idiot. The people can dog cuss a cop. Does that justify physical force? Absolutely not. These cops were looking for a fight and I hope each one of them ends up in jail. They are on the wrong side of the badge and people like this should never wear one.
Posted on 11/4/24 at 6:19 am to AwgustaDawg
Cop was wrong and other cops have to stop it but nothing is getting sorted out by the angry, our of control cop. Take the citation or go to jail.
Contempt of cop can get you killed.

Public outcry rights a lot of wrongs. The department will try to bury this, because that's what they always try to do. People making this public are doing the right thing.
