Only in a roundabout way. White people are more likely to give the police the benefit of the doubt and assume that any incident involving police was one where the victim got what he deserved. As a demographic whites have a higher trust in police and are pretty unmotivated to demand change.
Other demographics have less trust in police and are more likely to take this incident as yet another in a long line of police abuses.
Obviously, not every white or non-white holds the same views as their demographic.

There is a guy filming from the front side of this with a great angle. I’d like to see that video.
Also, and not defending anyone here, but if the officer felt his firearm (the guy did have his arm around the officer) was being compromised, he would take action. Not to say that was happening, just bringing it up.

Most likely the "tickets" were on mom or dad's phone and the kids didn't have access to them. That happened to us at a venue recently. Except the stadium workers had a brain and figured out what was truly happening.
This is precisely how it works at every venue I've been to in the last ten years. My phone has my whole family's e-tickets.

Bull fricking shite! You can’t handle someone questioning the actions of cops. You immediately referred to me as Antifa. Get fricked.

Me calling a African American cop racist over some clearly racist stuff as well as another black poster me and being a African American conservative as well I’m racist… okay idiot

You prosecute the frick out of the two or three criminal cops, from both videos, and you leave the rest of the dept alone. You don't broadbrush them all.
You prosecute the absolute frick out of the criminal cops, and you keep victims and friend of the victims aware of the progress of their punishment.
Problem is that pesky 'blue line' and the police unions. They make it nearly impossible to separate the good and bad apples.

Shouldn’t be. That poor police officer is doing the 25th most dangerous job in America. Not as dangerous as landscaping or garbage collecting but still 25th most dangerous. He is terrified that he isn’t going home to his family in the evening despite the fact that millions of people work in 24 jobs more dangerous than his who are not terrified out of their minds that death is imminent. Notice how armed he is due to this fear….it’d be unthinkable to do game security without a pistol and a taser….except of course for the hundreds of unarmed security personnel at the game…because after all he has the 25th most dangerous job in America.
He is also agent of the state and ALL citizens have a civic duty to comply with the demands of the state without question. Failure to do so is to run the risk of the state executing the citizen on the spot and rightfully so….the state can’t have its citizens questioning its authority for ANY reason.

quote:It doesn't matter what the victim done before the video. The cops are only supposed to subdue the people and they are taught plenty of tactical moves to do this. Punching the hell out of them is not one. At that point the cops have lost their minds and just started trying to beat them. At that point they should be punished just like anyone else (if not be held to a higher standard).
You can't just go by videos, you have to have ALL the facts. What happened that wasn't captured on video ?
There is no excuse for a cop to beat anyone in that situation. Even if he hit him, went for his gun or whatever. They are just supposed to gain control of the subject and pin them down. Neither were even trying that. They were acting like someone in a bar fight and should be treated as such.

Hard to come to a conclusion without knowing all the details but it’s certainly a bad look for these officers.

1983 civil action for violation of a federal civil rights by a state actor. What you do if you really want to is explain how you're not in the wrong, tell them you disagree, tell them they have no basis to detain or arrest you, and tell them you do not consent to removal but you do not resist if they want to arrest you. Make them arrest you, but do not get loud and cuss, giving off the potential to be a physical threat. Then you have a violation of civil rights, you don't look like a drunk buffoon which would hurt your case, and you don't get a resisting charge.
And the damages? $50k? For a civil rights violation? It ain’t going to be much. And it’s going to cost the taxpayers and other than the officer getting his arse chewed out or fired he will be employed as a cop somehwere. Any chance of it being a criminal offense and the cop going to jail. It be far better if we simply trained cops NOT to violate civil rights….

With this logic, “I don’t care if the guy just shot somebody else, it wasn’t on video…but that cop attacking him needs to be punished.”
Dangerous way to live.
