Can’t believe we kept him here so long. It held back the program.

You could provide an example, or, y'know, a link.

I added the link. Dude is talking about how his team is tired after game 2 of the damn season. And it’s just this type of tone deaf comment along with the multitude of similar comments he made last year. The natives are pissed at USC

OK well maybe you should put what the hell you are talking about in the OP before people comment on it, chief.

He won a title and had some great seasons, we dont win 2023 without a core of players that he recruited but there is no doubt by the end he had lost his fire for coaching. It could have been his back or the passing of his dad but he just did not appear to enjoy the game. As for the quit on the 2023 team I was referring to the poster not PM.

I'll never understand why people on here hate Mainieri as much as they do. He was a good coach. If you are expecting everyone to be Jay Johnson, idk what to tell you

Use the embed button instead of link. It's the "< >" button under the img button.

quit on a team with Skenes and Crews

He was told to leave because it was time, and Skenes didn't get here until JJ's second season.

He was a horrible game time coach. He was famous for pulling the wrong triggers or none at all.

Will never forgive when Rhymes was hitting into a record number of double plays and in post seaon play with the game (and season) on the line and a runner on first, what does Paul do? Let him hit into another... Then Gibbs - who was on an awful streak at the time - he lets swing away instead of pinch hitting and ends our season. That sequece perfectly describes him as a coach. 2009 literally happened despite him.

Paul was to LSU baseball what some fans want to claim Miles was to football, yet so many of those people love Paul and hate Miles.

He was referring to Nicolastiger

That dude is the biggest pussy on this board and doesn’t deserve to hang around discussing LSU baseball

My biggest issue with Paul was him going on a TV broadcast and talking about how "I recruited those players" knowing what he is doing and how that takes away from the shine of Jay and what he did to win that title. I couldn't imagine Saban taking credit for Les Miles title in 07 on air even though he has more right to do so than Paul does.
