Let me propose that it just might be possible that fans don't care about a particular sport.
I've been to lots of college football games, even more college basketball games, and a few soccer matches, but I have never seen a college baseball game in person.

I'm friends with a married couple who are Alabama football fans. They didn't watch a second of March Madness this year. That's insane to me, but to each their own.

Meh. It’s fun to watch when we win, but I’m not going to pretend to care when we suck. Kinda like LSU fans and college football.

To this note, while I went to a lot of sporting events as a student (free or nearly free entertainment while living in Athens), since graduating I've only been to football games, 1 baseball game and one swimming event (was actually the NCAA championships being held in Athens, not a regular dual meet).

The baseball game was an invitation from a huge South Carolina baseball fan when SC went to Athens for a game. The food from the tail gating was good, but I couldn't tell you what happened at the game itself. It really wasn't that important to me.

Not necessarily proud to admit it, but I'd trade a national championship in football for a zero win season in every other sport on campus combined.

So I just simplified it to everyone having to care about all sports equally because your original premise was completely retarded.
You actually just overcomplicated it for everyone, so allow me to simplify it. If you go out of your way to proclaim that you don't care about your school competing in x sport, then you are a coward. You don't have to live and die with every round of women's golf or men's water polo to show that you care. Never did I mention such a requirement in the original post, but since people are neanderthals who view everything through the lens of how they watch football, the original post was misunderstood. Next time, I'll be sure to dumb it down for everyone

The hard truth is other than football (and in some cases men's basketball) most people don't care too much about losing in other sports.

But the majority also like it when their school wins at anything and are happy/proud of their wins.

To me, I'd only say I care about a sport if losing bothers me to some degree. Just because I like it when UGA wins an equestrian title doesn't mean I care about the sport.

And yeah, I might enjoy going to a UGA baseball game. I've enjoyed many Braves baseball games over the years. But I don't really care if the Braves win either. It's just fun to watch a game sometimes. I like to see the Braves do well. I'm not really bothered at all when they suck.

Or some of us just don’t care about baseball, especially college baseball. I want us to do well in everything we do but i have watched 2 CBB games in my entire life despite having had a childhood friend on the team when I was a student. Baseball is not a made for tv sport and even more so for college.

It’s fine to not care about other sports, but some folks come on here and low rate those who do.

But sometimes it’s odd that those who don’t like a sport come on here and beat their chest when the sport they supposedly don’t care about is doing well.

Funny how that works. Women’s basketball for instance.

You do.

If it was actually true, you wouldn't be posting shite like this. Happy people don't try to make other people miserable.

I don't think that's unreasonable.

I'm a fan of UGA as a whole. When any sports team related to it does well, I occasionally brag about it a bit. I am not against others doing something similar about other sports.

I'm just not going to be upset about UGA losing at sports other than football. If anything the closest I get to that is a near miss in another sport. I was a bit irked when UGA made it to the national championship game in baseball a while back and won the first game before losing two straight to Fresno State.

Not because I care about baseball, but rather because UGA got really close to winning a championship game and then blew it.

It was similar to losing to Bama in the championship game in 2017. But 100 times less intense. But if UGA had lost two straight to start off the CWS, I wouldn't have been bothered at all. Funny how getting close but failing sometimes brings out more than just failing completely.
