Nobody is going to say yes to that...I know you’ve gotten use to everyone moving heaven and earth to get your blessed championship roster into the big dance: raising a season from the dead, changing the competitive parameters of conference championship participation, conference COVID procedures before the bowls, etc. But Alabama is not going to do it for you too...just contact trace as liberally as possible and make the CFP itself reschedule.

Ohio State to the Big 10 is like Texas to the Big 12 - used to pushing around their conference to get what they want, then pouting in the corner when no one in the SEC lets them do whatever they want.

He’ll retire that username and bring it out when it makes sense. He either already has another or will soon.

Clemson: "Damn we're not going have our OC for this game as it stands."

OSU: "Tough shite."

Bama: "Our OC is leaving after the title game, so let's do this thing."

OSU: "Delay the title game."

Yeah, I don’t think LSU was diving because it wasn’t like they were getting away from that game

Bingo, the SEC would have outright cancelled one of LSU's other games before they would have cancelled the Alabama game. Said that from the moment it was postponed while everyone was losing their minds over it. That game was never going to be cancelled unless the entire season was.

That'd be great - we can just plug in whatever analysts are left after Butch left to take Flood and Sarkisian's spots. Sounds like a reasonable sacrifice for us to make.

Why are you assuming Sark would leave if the game got pushed back a week?

It was postponed because A&M has so many out due to contract tracing. It was rescheduled for Dec. it would have been played but then Ole Miss had a breakout. Idk if it’s true but someone posted the state gov got involved to shut things down. No one was scared or trying to avoid an upset.

It may just have a bad look but not be anything but I think Aggy was fortunate to not play them because they were really the only threat they had on schedule late in the season. Ole Miss has an all-time bad defense, so it is not like Aggy was 100% going to lose. Still, they can cause problems for you because Kiffin usually had a handful of TD plays he’s just waiting to unfurl on you each game.

Do people realize there are more positive cases now than back at the peak in April
You are going to have issues whether it's played as scheduled or played the following week

I still don't know how Bama avoided the roster issues that pretty much every other sec team had to deal with.

NFL is dealing with it now but Goodell makes them play through it, but it is professionals they are playing with even though Denver played without a QB and Saints had to play without entire RB room.

Mean Gene Smith our great athletic director called your AD to see if we could push the game back to the 18th and your redneck AD said No . So , if we beat you with our JV team on defense , it will be the biggest failure of Alabama football EVER . See you Monday night . Later tools

I got COVID somehow before Christmas and hadn't been anywhere really. Still have no idea how I got it. I hate seeing people blaming OSU players for not being careful or whatever.

This is their 3rd outbreak since October.

They are either fricking incompetent or purposefully negligent.

They’ve been cagey about it but one thing they do is test every day. So they can catch positives early and isolate quickly to avoid additional infection.
My hunches - not proven but stand to reason - are:

the players did 100% virtual classes w/ no in-person components

they cohort between and within position groups to limit contact opportunity beyond outdoor practices (less transmission risk outdoors)

all position group meetings are handled virtually

Finally, because the team does have a lot of veterans I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t have critical players participating in the entire practice sessions. Guys like Najee Harris and Devonta Smith probably don’t need as many physical reps as mental reps (film study).

From what I heard, it did hit the team hard, but it was over the summer when there weren't any games. After that, they took every precaution they could to try and prevent any spread.
