I remember people saying 2009 Florida was going to be better than 2008 Florida because they had so many players returning from their '08 team. I just have a hard time seeing LSU topping last year's team even with what should be a huge upgrade in QB play. Last year's team just absolutely annihilated everybody except Bama. They were just unreal. Morris Claiborne, Reuben Randle and Michael Brockers are all big losses. Losing their DB coach could end up being a big blow as well. But really, LSU doesn't have to be as good as last year's team to win a national championship. Bama won't be as good this year and I don't see anybody else on LSU's level despite the USC hype.

And people think Arkansas fans are delusional. No idea where they get that from.

Let's see if I got it right........Losing 41-17 is better than winning 41-17; Going 6-2 in conference play is better than going 8-0; Not winning your conference that you have never won is better than winning it for the 4th time in 11 years; Playing in the Cotton Bowl and beating some team from Kansas (that's playing football instead of basketball) is better than playing for the National Championship?

Got it.

Good post and one I agree with.

The LSU and Bama teams that I watched last year were two of the best college teams that I've seen in years. Every year presents different challenges and obstacles to overcome.

LSU should be very, very good, but to play at the level that LSU did for 13 games last year will be very hard to duplicate.

I think we have a better shot at going undefeated this year than last year with that brutal slate..and we still did that..As long as Mett is ANY better than Jefferson, we should be in the national tyla hunt again.

D-line will be the same(DT's slightly worse, DE's slightly better with 2 returning starters/and Mingo)

Secondary will be better, Simon is probably going to be a future 1st/2nd round pick replacing Mo Claiborne..

Linebackers are fast and physical but no big names anywhere

2012 will be a great year

I swear I've never seen a fan base talk so much shite without any kind of accomplishments to point at. Arky should be ashamed riding Bama's win on Jan9 as of it was Arky playing. What I wanna know is why the gel has BP done to get this label of a great coach?

I love realistic fans. Im a big LSU fan, but I'll always give credit where credit is due. Thank you for being the same way.

In response to your question, I definitely could see it happening. As of now with Mett not having playing any real defenses, I will predict that we will lose to either Arkansas or Bama. It's tough winning both of those. If Mett is good as we hope, I feel like we can go undefeated. Anything can happen, though.

Line up and take your jabs at LSU and Les Miles right now. Because once the season starts it's on.

Actually, I think of it this way.

Nov 5th, 2011: A New Hope
Jan 9th, 2012: The Empire Strikes Back
Jan 7th, 2013: Return of the Jedi

Alabama is the Empire bro. #1 recruiting class and 200 national championships.

Yeah, but not unlikely.

I'm not saying it's likely but it's certainly not inconceivable.

Especially with our schedule.

Well, that's sort of exactly why I like last year's team.

They accomplished so much. They beat Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia by 30+ points each. I'm sure that's never been done by anyone in history.

I'm a bit worried about our secondary next year, as well.

It's a legit question. What has He done to warrant top 3-5 coaches in the sec?Sprry if reality hurts your feelings. He has accomplished nothing but 2nd and 3 rd places in the west.

ETA : oh yeah I forgot he is all happy and high fiving while demolishing Miss st then when the tables are turned he gets all pissy. I forgot. He is in the the " it's ok if I run the score up, but not ok when my team is getting their teeth kicked in"club.
Yeah it's a long name club
