Currently, the NCAA recognizes All-Americans selected by the AP, AFCA, FWAA, TSN, and the WCFF to determine consensus All-Americans.
So far all the teams have come out except for AFCA which should be any day now.
There are 10 players who are 4/4 with a shot at 5/5. Not surprisingly the SEC leads the way with 6.
RB Jonathan Taylor - Wisconsin
TE Jace Sternberger - Texas A&M
OL Jonah Williams - Alabama
DL Christian Wilkins - Clemson
DL Quinnen Williams - Alabama
LB Josh Allen - Kentucky
DB Grant Delpit - La State
DB Julian Love - Notre Dame
K Andre Szymt - Syracuse
P Braden Mann - Texas A&M

Twelve SEC players are members of the 2018 NCAA FBS consensus All-American team after the league had two players on the 2017 team. The 12 selections are the most that the SEC has had on the consensus All-American team.

When Jeffrey Simmons plays in the NFL, we will all know he should have been in that list.

I quickly scanned your list and said, “damn no LSU players?”
Then I realized there are, you just abbreviated LSU as gayest as possible.

Were Devin White's stats underwhelming? He's the best LB I watched this year.

Missed half the Bama game so he only wound up with 115 tackles on the season.
13 TFL
3 sacks
8 QB hurries
5 pass breakups
2 forced fumbles
From his ILB spot

Josh Allen is an EDGE player, it's dumb to compare ILB to EDGE rushers.
To me the breakdown goes like this:
DLinemen (NT, DT, big DEs)
EDGE (stand up rush OLB, smaller rush DE)
Linebackers (non rush OLB or ILB)
Just 3 very different things. I know the awards system is DL and then LB, but it really should change (it wont, because of historical nature of awards) but things have changed a lot.

What’s the best way to do it? When writing out full names I don’t like adding in one acronym. I also don’t want to spell out Louisiana every time. Tech uses La Tech. I think State can use La State.

These lists are about production in college, not how good of an NFL prospect you are. Simmons had 1 sack this year. He did have a bunch of TFL, but the rest of the guys who made these lists have both. That, in no way, means he isn’t an elite player.

D Baker not being on all lists is a joke. Graded out best all season and won the Thorpe award. 2 services may not have had an agenda keeping him off their lists, but they certainly didn’t have eyes either.

Two consensus All-Americans and Jimbo could only go 8-4, should have been 7-5 if not for help against La State. Not impressed.

Mississippi State not having one player in is a joke. Number one defense in the country, while playing SEC competition is a proven defense. Sweat and Simmons got robbed.

I don’t know, maybe LSU?

Pretty sure Deebo has been named to two or three 1st Team All-American teams so far, has he not?
Posted on 12/12/18 at 10:24 am to HailStatefan
Sweat is on FWAA & TSN. There is a lot of competition on the DL.

I don’t see Deebo listed.
