Maybe not this year, although Michigan State is the best team to come out of either conference.
Maybe...although I think OU is better than than I thought they were after watching the Bama game.
The reality is that B1G is now closer to the level of the B12 than any time in the past few decades - which is only due to losing ATM/NU/Mizz

Thanks Crimson and all. It was a rough transition and a really difficult year leading up to this, but its great to see coaches and players embrace their own trials and adversity and grow stronger from it rather than fall apart. Regardless of how good one thinks Mizzou was or wasn't this year, what's undeniable is that they did come together as a team and improve themselves a whole lot over what they were last year, and that's all you can ask of anyone.
Who knows if we will make it back to this level again any time soon, but we are glad to be able to help the conference out a bit this year in exchange for you guys having taken a chance on us.

2013 SEC EAST STANDINGS
1. Missouri
2. South Carolina
You all are so butt hurt over Mizzou its hilarious.
Carry on with your crying.
To the OP. thanks. It pretty wild being the second best SEC team this year. Who would have thought that?
First, speaking for myself, I am not butthurt at all over this. We finished 2nd in the East. We lost to Tennessee which totally took us out of the big picture. Inexcusable loss, but it happens sometimes, unfortunately.
Sure, it stings to see the others in the SEC pile on the accolades because (forgive us for this next part) we are human and we know, for a fact, that head to head, we did beat Mizzou.
Someone said it best the other night in a thread when they stated something to the effect of the Gamecocks could win a National Championship, find enough gold buried in the football field to make everyone rich, discover every secret regarding life on earth, etc, etc, etc and STILL all they would have to say in regard to our success was one thing: Tennessee.
Is that fair? No
Is that our reality? Unfortunately yes.
Having said all that, congrats on an awesome season, Mizzou. In all sincerity I have been impressed all year with your resiliency and I'm proud to call you a member of the SEC.

Dont think for a second that we, as a fan base, dont respect South Carolina.

Ooo!! That was me, I said that!!
For quoting me I can now admit I completely respect USCe and know you're the force in the East currently.
However for any future talking purposes above comments may not be rendered.

I'm sure we'll take good care of it, along with the higher cash payout we get from playing in it
I guess this is cool for you to think about Cock fan but the truth is that Kentucky received the same amount of money as South Carolina from the bowl payouts. The SEC distributes the bowl payout money to each school across the board evenly.

Not trying to speak for him, but I think the point was that the Capital One Bowl has a higher payout than the Cotton Bowl, making it a slightly higher tiered Bowl. I'm pretty sure everyone knows how the funds from the Bowls are divvied up between the schools and the SEC. Just my perception of what was meant by that comment.
