Yes, that is correct. He was hired after Thanksgiving. In the TV booth at the bowl game.

Texas: (1) destroyed the SEC champion on the road that beat every single SEC team they played, while (2) having a tougher strength of schedule than any other SEC team not named Alabama... would've lost to 4 teams SEC teams not named Alabama last year? Logic is not your strongest attribute..
A&M has done this twice since being in the SEC. Newsflash. Just because you beat the champion doesn’t mean shite. You still have a ton of teams that are great that can beat you.
You have to beat them all. Not just the ones that you get up for.

Just my opinion but I think you're setting yourself up for a major disappointment. I don't see any of these guys making a lateral move to Texas unless Texas is offering an unprecedented, "frick you" amount of money. CDC might be planning to take a swing at Vitello or Schloss after the tournament, but I don't see either of them making a move.

Didn't Elko just do this?
Elko was headed to Michigan State before A&M came calling.

I will be disappointed if Pierce is still here next year. Outside of that, I trust CDC to get someone that can compete within 2 years.
With the portal, I don't think that's an unreasonable expectation.

You sure about that? I'm certain Smith was always Michigan State's top choice.

The difference is they professionally already have arrived at the championship game. They already have the support and are already there.
What does Texas bring that other teams can’t also do?
Recent success? No.
Facilities? No.
Money more than their current program would pay? I don’t think so.
A better city to live in? It’s a stretch and a minor reason…but okay.
A great place to raise kids or grandkids? Not really.
Good food. Okay. Sure.
Pretty hill country? Okay.
So you’re gonna get a coach because they like Austin’s food better and the geography is better. They’re gonna abandon a working program for an unproven shite show so they can see a pretty sunset and have some good tamales?
Child please. Just think how freaking stupid your entire premise is. Think man. Think.

I've stated multiple times that Schloss is staying, I was just pointing out that the original comment I was replying to legit just happened by A&M in November.
But since you brought this up.
What does Texas bring that other teams can’t also do?
Recent success? No. I counter with a much more appealing school and storied program
Facilities? No. Can be built
Money more than their current program would pay? I don’t think so.Boosters at A&M could be hesitant to fork over the big bucks after the Jimbo disaster. But it's your first national championship appearance since WW2 so that will probably play a factor.
A better city to live in? It’s a stretch and a minor reason…but okay. much better
I'll also add:
-No cult traditions
-States Flagship school
- Better name recognition

Gonna pitch a regional exit to Louisiana-Lafayette too? Texas boosters are notorious for focusing funds where there’s success, rn that’s football. They aren’t gonna bankroll a coach for a record setting contract, throw money into NIL, and almost $100M in facilities when they’re less than a year removed from a 3rd seed regional exit to a directional school in Louisiana. More importantly, a coach that has built a monster of a program and has been guaranteed a new stadium that he has helped design isn’t going to abandon that for a school who’s baseball program is on a very steady decline in both talent & results. No one cares how many championships Texas won in excess of 20 years ago. They are a program that is, at least, in a significant amount of trouble rn. If you think a coach at a program playing for a National title that has committed significant money and resources to them, be it Schloss or Vitello, is gonna abandon that and take a massive risk for a program on a steep decline because of the prospect of “restoring it to its former glory”, I need to know what you smoke and from where you acquired it. Texas is a very historic program, no one can deny that, but they have some significant work to do to restore both the status of the program, and the faith of the people with the money in it. They’re gonna get a good coach, but it’s not going to be from any team that was close to a title this year. They’re almost certainly going to look at someone in the realm of a Cliff Godwin or a Justin Haire.
