Call it what you want, but yeah it probably is hurting recruiting. And if you're truly innocent, I understand why he would act that way.

On the other hand, had we paid Cam 200k, there's no damn way Chiz would be antagonizing the NCAA like that...at least I know I wouldn't

The compliance officer for Auburn has since commented on the Cam Newton saga. A CO is not allowed to discuss an ongoing case by the NCAA.

What did the CO say?

Not at all? I asked you to dispute my post being wrong or false.

By posting the question you did are you conceding that what I wrote was factual?

You're assuming that Chizik knew all along that they paid 200 K for him. Boosters are the problem usually. And its also a reach to say he wouldn't be saying things like this if he knew they were innocent.

I don't think anybody that believes AU did something wrong believes that the Chiz has a clue about it.

Chiz did not personally write a check to Cecil Newton, dumbass. For all we know, Chiz firmly believes in Auburn's innocence. Doesn't mean Auburn is innocent.

Someone fed this story to Thamel. My quess it is the same source as Kirk McNair, the question is why now.

Seems like perfect timing to me.

I love how Thamel, who has egg all over his face with the Cam Story, come out of hibernation after 6 months of silence. All he can do is quote another coach at the meeting, what happened to all his connections at the NCAA. Who here believes (besides the bammmers) that Chizik peppered the NCAA on an investigation on his school in an OPEN forum. Then telling all other schools that the NCAA Investigation was hurting his recruiting.

You really believe that the coaches are lying on the record? Basketball coaches? Come on...

FWIW, if Auburn is dirty (and I feel pretty confident they are as it relates to Cam Newton), I don't believe Chizik had anything to do with it.

There are very few HEAD COACHES that get directly involved with the shady stuff, IMO.

Plausible deniability (sp?)
