Alabama has a rather large alumni group in Dallas as well. Yet, has only signed two kids from the metro area in the last ten years.

Oh, you are talking about recruiting presence.

I was talking about eyeballs focused on games on T.V.

Memphis, I can show pics of Bourque wearing A&M gear. That hat first mean that much

Let's say a kid from Houston, let's say Shep. What if he was leaning LSU and UTa says they'll televise his HS games? It's a monstrous advantage in recruiting

Prob Mizzou or someone from the east or middle east. I could see possible Louisville getting an invite.

And that is why Texas A&M is ultimately not worth it. Bringing in a Mizzou-type program is only worth it if you can get a Texas or Oklahoma. Texas A&M is not anywhere near as good.

Debatable.

Arkansas and Texas both had legit offers, you can guess which one wasn't scare...

We chose the Big XII last time. It was supposed to be the best conference when it was forming. It didn't live up to billing and is a dying conference.

And you don't have to believe A&M has an offer to the SEC. But we do

But they have tradition.

Also they would rival Kentucky in all the cheer-leading competitions.

LSU is bigger than any one player. If he starts wavering and flips for whatever reason then he wasn't meant to be and we will move on

Kind of go hand-in-hand. Alabama has a presence in Dallas and Houston with alumni, but not enough to make an impact like OU or the Texas schools obviously. Or even as much as LSU and Arkansas. The game versus Michigan in Arlington could change that some.

I think that people outside of Texas underestimate what A&M would bring to the conference.

Umm... No, the Big12 was formed as a bail out plan from the Big8 after the SWC decided they didn't have to have Arkansas in their conference in order to survive...

Hypothetically speaking, say A&M joins the west. Who would you want to join the east? FSU, Clemson WVU etc?

You can always slide Bama and Auburn into the East which would keep their rivalry games together and get two west teams to add to the west. Which would be A&M and whoever.

Why is TCU not ever mentioned in the expansion discussion? It opens up a Texas market and they could compete in Football and Baseball and would eventually be decent in Basketball.

Alabama needs to look into this if the NCaa lets Texass get away with it.

Texas could have gone but they don't want to be in the SEC. They couldn't get special treatment there which they demand.

Our edged up conference has unequal sharing with UTa, OU and A&M guaranteed more money at the other schools expense. That conference won't last

Possibly, possibly not.

We do not have a good history in pulling kids from Florida/Georgia, it has more to do with distance than how often we play or don't play in their state.

It can be debated that the Southwest Classic has benefited aTm more so than Arkansas in the recruiting department.

TCU has a stadium that sits less than 40,000 and they don't sell it out. TCU isn't a SEC school

If you move Bama and Auburn to East, then you have to add 4 to the West. I like the idea; the West could add OU, OSU, A&M, and another Big 12 school.

I never thought about TCU but I'm for it if we're looking for a school to come in with A&M.
