I would want Georgia Tech to be in the SEC

We know we are in the midwest.
We know we have more traditional rivalries with a few of the Big 12 teams.
Those teams are Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Baylor.
We've played Oklahoma State a few times historically.
We've barely ever played OU.
We've almost never/never have played:
Kansas
Missouri
Kansas State
Nebraska
Iowa State
Colorado
At this point, we have more historic tradition playing vs Ole Miss and LSU than we do Texas Tech, or any of the other schools not named Texas or Texas A&M.
We have more tradition against the rest of the SEC than against most of the Big 12.
We already have a long term series with Texas A&M and we throw Texas in there once in a while.
We are a little "midwestern" but we've always looked south.

I think the SEC should launch a preemptive strike and grab Texas and Oklahoma from the Big XII.

That would be sweet, do we kick out the Mississippi schools or just have 7 teams in a division?

I say we keep Arkansas and let Tennessee go to the big 12 because ya'll suck.

I think the SEC needs to add, not subtract.

That's fine I'm not going to cry about it like that bitchy Arkansas fan.

Trade South Carolina to the ACC for Tech and let Arkansas go to the Big 12 and we get Notre Dame to join the SEC

Everyone is thinking too small. Keep Ark and add 4 teams, become the first superconference. Add TX, OK, and 2 more. The 2 more can be from the east (GT & FSU) or bring in aTm and another school.
Think big. Looking to Memphis St is thinking small.

I think the big thing to remember is that all of the talk about the Big 10 and Pac 10 expanding is because they want to get on the same level as the SEC. The SEC has been the model of how to run a 12-team, 2-division conference for almost 20 years now. Others have tried (ACC, Big 8/12) and not been nearly as successful as the SEC. There will be no change to the SEC's current lineup for the forseeable future.

Now that's what I'm talking about!
To borrow an old saying from dog sledding: "If you're not the lead dog, your view never changes."
The SEC is the lead dog right now. The conference should do what ever it takes to keep it that way. And the first step IMO would be to keep the Pac Ten or Big Ten conferences from getting stronger at our expense.

I read this thread and wonder if anyone has read over the recent TV deal the SEC signed? If they had, this thread wouldn't exist. The SEC is going to stay how it is.

No, because that contract is history already. The SEC is already playing for it's next tv contract.
I bet the SWC, which at one point was considered the strongest conference in CFB, never would have believed it would go the way of the dinosaur.
My point is, unless you do the work to stay on top, the only way you can go is down.

It is huge, other conferences are jealous or should be.

The SEC is a superconference already, so that doesn't help the argument.
There would be no point in adding teams from within the footprint because we're already in those TV markets, and that would dilute the TV package per team, so goodbye GT and FSU.
Adding Texas or OU would add markets, but it would be iffy if ESPN/CBS would want to pay more than the 3 billion they are paying now.
The SEC will be the one major conference that doesn't shakeup in the near future.

If arkansas left, then T.C.U. would be a good replacement. They have the resources to be very good. the s.e.c. gets one of the three largest t.v. markets in texas. This produces more revenue and doesn't compromise the brand. It would really benefit lsu with recruiting.
