Pair up pods yearly; best of each group of 8 is the SECCG contestant.

Y1 - AB winner vrs. CD winner
Y2 - AC winner vrs. BD winner
Y3 - AD winner vrs. BC winner

Revenue from ticket sales for the entire university of Texas athletic system is expected to be down over 40% in the coming five years compared to the previous five years according to the report they sent me

I am against the pods. There is no way to maintain all of the Alabama-Tennessee, Florida-Georgia, Auburn-Georgia, and Auburn-Alabama rivalries under a pod system that still allows for a rotation of every other team within 4 years (because, it would require at least one permanent rival between pods.)

I say, go with no divisions, top two teams go to SECCG (BigXII already does this), and each team plays 3 permanent rivals and every other team twice every four years.

A&M has been scared to drive the distance to Austin for a decade. I guess it is too far.

There is some rumblings his week that they may already be working on a significant buyout figure being lowered substantially. All signs point to 2023 still. And I think a lot of it doesn’t even really have anything to do with OU or Texas wants it’s more off when other new big 12 teams will arrive because I know without a doubt they wont be okay with losing massive revenues for nothing in return .

But this format goes back to creating tie-breakers to sort teams without common opponents.

FWIW, the B12 has a full round-robin schedule, so everybody as already plays everybody. They DON'T need a CG to determine the winner.

If they go 4 pods, how is the champion determined? Best 2 records play in Atlanta?

Has there been any rumblings of what might happen? Two divisions? Team movement? 4 pods?

I believe the answer is two division is the best choice. Southeastern-East and Southeastern-west. play 11 SEC games. 7 SEC teams in own division. then 4 crossover teams. Then next year same 4 crossover teams and just switch home field. Then third year play other 4 crossover teams. Then 4th year same 4 crossover teams and switch home field. That is best one I see so far.

Many will complain and not happy. That is why two divisions is best of all. Look at the map! Eastern States and Western States. Just put a circle of those two spots. There you have it. Easy as it is. No complaint. That is fair.

The main thing now for the Big12 is to keep its P5 status. If the SEC can help them with that, then they will be more agreeable to a cheaper buyout.

I believe they want a working relationship with the SEC since the Alliance excluded them from their group.

No they won't. They will squeeze both the sips and Sooners for every cent they can get. Pay your taxes, and then come find out how truly average you both are

Everyone gets their main rival. Under this system, you’ll be playing your secondary rivals twice every four years. that’s not a huge
sacrifice, and it’s INFINITELY bettwr
than the current crap system where Ags have
played Georgia ONCE and ZERO times at Kyle in 10 years. I think we’ve played TN twice. Finally played FL to make it 3x in 10 years….

This. Every year two pods join up to essentially act as one division, the winner would play the champion of the other two.

The Big 12 will accept a reduced buyout because the buyout money will only be a one time deal and only go so far. To keep their P5 status and P5 money, they will need a relationship with the SEC.

The Alliance left them out. More than likely so they can poach the Big 12 when the time is right. They will want an alliance with the SEC and ND, to ensure they are not left behind and the SEC might be interested in forming a voting block with the Big 12.
