Yeah. I mean we have a ton of history with both of y'all, but I would much much rather keep our historical games with Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

You CAN'T do 3 perm/6 rotating unless UGA has Aub. & Fl. as part of their perms. So those pods will have be redone.

What I’m talking about is not pods, so that allows more flexibility on the three permanent. You don’t need all 4 teams in a pod to have the same permanent opponents. With pods, you do need that. With a podless 3/6 model, you don’t.

But you HAVE to have pods or divisions to be able to easily determine the SECcg teams withOUT creating tie-breakers to sort teams withOUT common opponents.

Say Teams A, B, & C are 9-3. A&B have 2 common opponents, A&C has 1 common opponent, & B&C have no common opponents. How are they ranked?

Right, that’s the downside of the podless 3/6 model. But that’s less if a big deal in a world with an expanded playoff. Further, we didn’t have these conference championship games fir years. They aren’t necessities. You could just play 9 games and have an SEC champ (or cio-champ) based on records.

I don’t think there is anyway to do the pods that works we’ll for everyone, but we could do a podless 3/6 that everybody is happy with.

A & M has replaced Tennessee in the Big Six. UT fans don't know it yet but it's true. Too much money and recruiting grounds. It's inevitable. Add Texas and OU and those eight teams will be two per in the pods. That's a given and how it will be.

Florida and UGA go together. Alabama and Auburn go together. Texas and OU go together. That leaves LSU and TAMU.

Vandy and Tennessee go together. Ole Miss and MSU go together. MIssouri and Arkansas go together. That leaves UK and USC.

Arky and Mizzou go with Texas and OU, renewing long time rivalries.

Tennessee and Bama have to be in the same pod. They hate each other and have always played every year so that brings UT and Vandy in with Bama and Auburn.

Geographically the Mississippi schools fit much better with LSU and TAMU than anywhere else.

That leaves UK and USC to end up with UGA and Florida.

No other solution makes nearly as much sense.

4 pods is what I hear. They are trying to work out a proper balance between distance and traditional rivalries when choosing pods.

A&M is kicking against being in a pod with Texas.

Lmfao!!! Typical for tu to worry about “distances”….Hawaii says hello!

I have NEVER heard a single SEC team complain or cry about “distances”, ever!! It must be a tu thing! Plus that right there is a giveaway that you are full of shite and know absolutely nothing!!

I have a plan with 4x4 pods that you pair up pods each year & 1 perm in each of the other pods. Basically it's a 6 perm./3 rotating idea.

Y1: AB winner vrs. CD winner
Y2: AC winner vrs. BD winner
Y3: AD winner vrs. BC winner

A1's Y1 Schedule
A2
A3
A4
B1 (pod B perm. rival)
B2
B3
B4
C1 (pod C perm. rival)
D1 (pod D perm. rival)

Y2 Schedule
A2
A3
A4
C1 (pod C perm. rival)
C2
C3
C4
B1 (pod B perm. rival)
D1 (pod D perm. rival)

Y3 Schedule
A2
A3
A4
D1 (pod D perm. rival)
D2
D3
D4
B1 (pod B perm. rival)
C1 (pod C perm. rival)

You've played everybody in 3 years (or less), full H/A rotation in 6 (or less).

But UGA & Auburn have DSIO, so we have to be in the same pod.
UGA & Florida have WLOCP, so we have to be in the same pod.

In this structure, UK is the only school in the entire 16-team conference which will have to fly over a state to reach any of its pod members. Won’t work.

Good luck:

Miss. - MSU - Ala. - Aub. - UGA - UF
or
Vandy - Tenn. - Ala. - Aub. - UGA - UF

It’s going to be up to your new daddy Longhorn and they’ll let you know once they have an official join date.

If they go 4 pods, how is the champion determined? Best 2 records play in Atlanta?

I don’t think they can award “pod champs” and have a 4 team playoff, especially with the real playoffs likely expanding soon anyway.

Hopefully they just move Auburn and Bama to the East and Mizzou to the West. We're probably getting stupid pods though.

I like JCDawg's pods, but here is best, simplest way to play it where EVERY team plays EVERY OTHER team twice (home and home) in a 4 year period.

That should be priority one, and make for the best competition, viewership, etc:

A. Play the 3 in your pod
B. Play the 4 in another pod
C. Play 2 from a third pod.

Next year, switch the home fields.
Year 3, you play the other 2 in that pod, plus 4 from the last pod you havent played yet. Next year, switch home fields.

REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT...... everyone plays everyone at least twice every 4 years.

Needs tie-breakers to determine rankings.

& possibly loses annual rivalries.
