This got brought up on another thread and I figured I'd do some research on the topic. Everyone, especially Bama fans on here, seem to want to harp on UGA benefitting from playing easy schedules the last 2 seasons as a big reason for us winning the NC. So, below is all the ranked teams that UGA played in 21 and 22 and all the ranked teams Bama played in their last two NCs (2017 & 2020) with all of the team's rank at the time they played them...

UGA

Clemson #3
Arkansas #8
Auburn #18
Kentuckey #11
Michigan #2
Alabama #1
Oregon #11
Tennessee #1
LSU #14
Ohio State #4
TCU #3

Bama

FSU #3
LSU #19
Miss st #16
Auburn #6
Clemson #1
UGA #3
Texas A&M #13
UGA #3
Auburn #22
UF #7
Notre Dame #4
Ohio St #3

UGA played 11 ranked teams that had an average ranking of of 6.9
Bama played 12 ranked teams with an average ranking of 8.3

Both teams played six top 5 teams

UGA played two teams ranked #1 at the time we played them
Bama played one team ranked #1

Maybe we can put that argument to rest now?

They were ranked #3 when we opened the season against them in 2021.

Doesn’t matter UGA won their Championships and Alabama did the same. Any nitpicking is sour grapes from the jealous and sore loser crowd.

Couldn't agree more... I think your comment is the best post from a Bama fan I have read on this forum since I've been on this forum. I gladly give you an 'upvote' my Crimson wearing friend!

2019 LSU was better than both!

I would have bet my house that some LSU fan was going to post that exact comment on this thread.
2019 LSU = an unstoppable force
2021 UGA = an immovable object
Who'd win? I guess we'll never know.

It won't ever be put to rest for some. But after we 3 peat, no rational human/ai could ever say that Bama's run was better than ours.

One was a covid year with no fans and smaller rosters

You conveniently left out Bama played an all SEC schedule in 2020 on way to undefeated NC!

TCU in playoffs a joke! Playoff committee goal was not best 4 teams but to keep Bama out.

You can’t really penalize Uga for replacing OU. They had to. But maybe there was lack of effort in getting a p5 to replace them.

UF plays 11 or 12 power fives this year.

You could have fielded an entire team with the players missing that year.

That’s easy to do when bama drops two regular season games.

'Hater bait's comment above proved that there are some very smart, rational, realistic and decent Bama posters on this forum. You, on the other hand, well, lets just say you need to take some notes from what he or she said. Pay special attention to what he said about sore losers and the jealous, sour grapes crowd.

Bama faced Covid depleted rosters often, and no fans as well.
